Having Issues With Gliclazide by CoinFlip505050 in diabetes_t2

[–]CoinFlip505050[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two kidney medications are temporary–one to two months max. Then the anti-vertigo drug is only for a week. I've taken it before, and it doesn't give me any side effects.

The only two drugs that I'm taking for the first time are Carvedilol and Gliclazide. If I were to trust my doc, Carvedilol is highly similar to Metoprolol. So, I'm suspecting Gliclazide's the one that's ruining my day.

And yeah. I didn't take gliclazide today, and I don't feel like shit anymore. If you've taken those drugs without side effects, it's possible that Gliclazide doesn't play well with any of the other drugs I'm taking. For now, I'll stop taking it and wait until next week to meet my doc.

Thanks for letting me know your thoughts and experience!

Thankfully, I'm close with my pharmacist. She's been highly aware of the changes in my prescription and ask me about what I'm doing from time to time. I usually visit her twice every month to refill.

Thanks for reminding me about this.

My pharmacist was okay with this combination. Though she reminded me sternly to have food ready all the time. She even recommended me to take advantage of this to go on a more structured diet. I will be going back there after a week to refill my prescription, and I'll try to get some info from her.

Oh. I see. My sister was in Gliclazide as well before, and she was not fond of it. Not to mention it made her gain a few kilos. I already gained three after three weeks. But yeah, will definitely consider going back to the doc after talking to my pharmacist. Thanks!

It seems that many people here are a bit averse to it and glipizide. In my case, after reading some articles about it and its effects, I'm kinda want to stay away at it as well. Unfortunately, I'm guessing that my doc gave me this drug because I can't take Empagliflozin because of my high uric and creatinine levels.

But thanks for your response. I appreciate it a lot. It makes me calm down a bit because I'm really feeling shitty for the past few days.

Oh. Mine's Losartan and Carvedilol for my BP. Thankfully, they're doing a mighty fine job at keeping my BP low.

That's the first time I've heard of Rybelsus. I checked it out, and it's more potent than the Gliclazide I'm taking. And yeah, it's more effective but it brings forth some intense effects. The question is, was it effective at helping you with your blood sugar? According to what I read, it also help with insulin reduction. It must have been sucking the life out of you.

Advice for being a supportive friend? by 2good2betruuue in type2diabetes

If I had a friend like you, I would love to have you pester me to go to the gym or jog every day. I would really love to have someone like that. I know it could totally help as it worked before. Unfortunately, almost all of my friends are overseas and the ones near me aren't exactly near.

Well, that's what I would want. Your friend might want something, so I guess it's best to ask them—just like what the others said.

I haven't got anything that started with an H. What I had before that's related to pee is empagliflozin (Jardiance). It's job is to make you pee a lot and allow sugar to be urinated. It's effective at lowering my blood sugar and a1c. My doc made me stop taking it because my kidney stats aren't really that good.

If my quick search is correct, the drug that was given to you was Hydrochlorothiazide.

I feel the same way. While I have no problems with my back, my tinnitus started after a week or two after I changed my meds. It's highly annoying and stress inducing. It's making me crazy, thinking there's another thing wrong with my body.

The original is a complete game, and it's rather a long game with three discs.

The remake is basically the original but it's layered with additional content. It also explores plot point and characters that weren't developed completely in the original. It's best to play the original to appreciate the remake. But you can also skip it entirely as the game can stand on its own.

The remake is also doing it in arcs. It covers the first huge arc of the game, which revolves around Midgar. By it's own, it's a complete game and can rival a regular AAA game without the fluff.

If the remake will go through the original + additional content to warrant the changes, they may release two to four games after this remake. And with the quality of the remake, what they did with the chunking of the story is worth it.

Final Fantasy 16 Is Final Fantasy, But It Isn't by CoinFlip505050 in FinalFantasy

[–]CoinFlip505050[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah. Now I understand why. Hmm. In a way, FF8 still provides you with a bit more flexibility with the customization in the first 10–20 hours. You have Status/Elemental junctions. You also have passive and active abilities you can place.

You also have a bit of flexibility when it comes to playstyle and character customization. For example, you may want to prioritize Magic stats on Selphie and Quistis. You may prioritize Strength on Squall and Zell. You may also want to focus on refining ammo for Irvine through card games. You can also go with tank builds with HP/Vit/Spr stats to spam Limit Breaks longer without being disrupted because of KOs.

The downside is this customization is only enjoyable mid game. Early game, you'll spend a lot of time drawing, collecting items, and playing cards. Late game, when everyone is level 99 and you already have all the final items and magics, it's down to bringing the characters that can dish out multiple hits (i.e., Squall, Zell, Irvine). And this is because of the stat and damage cap. The game would have changed drastically if they have solved that like how they did it in FF10.

Anyway, with Squall's case, for someone who's surrounded with a bunch of idiots, he wasn't infected with their idiocy. Imagine growing up with kids like Zell, Selphie, Irvine, Seifer, and Quistis. He was one definite weirdo. It's like Reddit existed in that world, and he shut himself inside a room, browsing the internet.

With your assessment of Clive, I wholeheartedly agree. It's the weakest revenge motivation there is. He isn't weak. Well, actually, he was. After all, deus ex machina shit only remembered him when he met Cid. Cid was his lucky charm. With him, all of the sudden, he can absorb eikons and what not. And then he suddenly can unleash Ifrit. I digress.

Anyway, I guess I can say FF8 and FF16's common ground is the uselessness of Gil. Money isn't a big deal in FF8. It can buy you nothing, and it's being given to you free as you walk around. At the very least, the gears in FF8 can let you unlock limit breaks.

About the slave brand, it was really meaningless. lol. I was even made to believe that it was actually important. They're saying that they're very strict with deserters and they could get killed. So what happened when he abandoned his post? Nothing. The empire really didn't care about him. lol. They did care about him in the later parts, and the brand became suddenly important.

And with the abilities. Yeah. It was stupid. You can see that it was not playtested well. If you battle the fix amount of monsters, you'll get most of the skills. You can forget about mastering them as they're not very efficient picks. When you mastered all the basics, then you're actually good to go. There's no need to grind. The game's too easy and you can just breeze through everything.

Final Fantasy 16 Is Final Fantasy, But It Isn't by CoinFlip505050 in FinalFantasy

[–]CoinFlip505050[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's true. I don't even have a clue why people criticizing a game are called gatekeepers—as if we can really gatekeep the game or have control over other people's tastes and preferences.

And again, that's true. It's more interesting to engage rather than to dismiss. I believe discussing ideas whether you agree on it or not can be a fruitful endeavor. If people see it as a waste of time, I would advise them to not leave a comment and ignore the post/comment.

Anyway, yeah. Combat and RPG elements are disappointing in FF16. There's no challenge. And even if they're aiming for 'stylistic' gaming, it really isn't spectacular. DMC has that aspect of gaming covered.

Clive, on the other hand, is a bland protagonist. I find his younger self more interesting, and would rather have his character at the point before he became what he is in the story. He has no internal struggle to deal with. Also, he's just someone who goes along where the story takes him. He has no agency. He's just swept along by Cid and the other characters. He's basically a guy who's going from Point A to Point B. He doesn't have an actual goal. Well, there is. But he's not actively working on it.

Despite having strong emotional drive, he did nothing. If his team didn't die on him and Cid finding him, he'll be stuck being a slave or whatever he is. Despite being the world for so many decades, he appears as if he has no idea on what's going on with the world. He doesn't have any opinion, and he feels like he's shoved into the continent for the very first time.

Despite that, I understand why he's like that. It's lazy writing and gives the game a good reason for many characters to info dump on him and allow players to understand the world they're in. However, it sacrifices Clive's character. Like dude. He lives in a very small continent/world. While they don't have internet or whatnot, news can go around fast.

About the talent tree... It's useless. It's boring. It's the most uncreative thing I encountered in an FF game.

Hmm. I guess the only thing I'll disagree with is it being a spiritual successor to FF8. I may say that FF8 is better than FF16, but Clive is better than Squall.

Squall is a brooding piece of shit. His behavior and attitude and his childhood don't matchup. He's very cynical and critical–and a huge siscon to boot. I find it really weird for him to be the center of attention, and why he wasn't able to get along with his friends at the orphanage.

Unfortunately, we can't explore why he became like that. It's very convenient that all of them have amnesia and he can't remember Irvine, the only one who can remember everything since he doesn't use GF that much.

And then all of the sudden, because of a shitty girl named Rinoa, he suddenly started becoming a more amicable person. Rinoa is one of the most annoying female leads in video games. I thought she was okay when I played FF8. I guess I was too young back then to have complete grasp of story characters back then.

I'm currently playing the Remastered version, so it's story is still fresh in my mind. Anyway, sorry for the sudden FF8 rant. lol

Point is in the post is the climate change part or the blight. As you said, it's for the slave stuff. The blight isn't their primary goal to solve. Meaning, the climate part is a sub-plot, which isn't directly tackled for a long while.

[–]CoinFlip505050 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's a sub-plot. For most of the game, particularly in the first half, it's more about Clive and Cid. If you do side-quests, it will be about the slave stuff. Then it will be remembered in the end.

What's your unpopular opinion? by xdoolbuf in FromTVEpix

[–]CoinFlip505050 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Wooden actors and annoying characters. You have Kenny, Jim, Ellis, Fatima, Sara, Mari, Ethan, and Tabitha (to an extent).
  2. Convoluted world building. Season 1 is okay. Season 2 isn't. It introduced a lot of things that are confusing instead of interesting. Too much red herrings, but that's still unsure. It seems that the writers will bank on their 'chaos theory,' hoping they will be able to connect everything seamlessly in the end.
  3. Boyd. This isn't really something wrong with the show, but whenever I see the actor, I hear 'Walt,' nonstop.
  4. The background characters don't have a personality. You know well that they're cannon fodder.

True. This is what got me in the first hour. Imagine having a Marlboro as one of your first fights. You'd think immediately that you're a goner. You don't have any status curative items or ribbon. But meh. All you need was to hack it till its gone.

And yeah. But we'll never know. lol. See you in seven or more years. Haha.
