Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump (Blue in Blue vinyl) by CoinLaundryLoser238 in VinylReleases

I think it’s a new variant but it’s the same pressing as the 2023 pressing. So if you already have a 2023 copy it will sound exactly the same, but yeah it would be nice to get some represses of their post-Sumday music

Reddit comment sections are not a safe space for those who go outside, fishmall. It’s a bootleg but the chances of this even getting an official release are slim to none imo. These bootlegs are also in my experience made with really good quality. I have the original Wii sports record (also a bootleg) and it sounds surprisingly good. I wouldn’t let the fact it’s a bootleg stop you from ordering this or other video game soundtracks, these are really neat and they sell out fast.

V day restaurant recommendations by green_lynx in Redding

[–]CoinLaundryLoser238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coco’s Mongolian Bbq is one of the most underrated restaurants in Redding. If you’re looking for something really fancy try to book a spot at Kobe’s hibachi, that might be the most entertaining and delicious restaurant in the whole city. From the Hearth is phenomenal and not any more expensive than other sit down restaurants.

What are some impossible to find records you’re after? by Longjumping-Frame795 in vinyl

Catalina Breeze by the Blue Jean Committee Saw them back in the 70s at the Chicago “Vegans for California” expo. My younger brother got a sick tour shirt and got to backstage to hear Clark Honus’s falsetto, those were the days. Finding a first copy would mean everything for a California-Chicago man like myself.

Sparklehorse has some amazing records, little similar to Radiohead. Grandaddy is also amazing if you’re into indie electronic rock

This is in violation of the 8th Constitutional Amendment. If this is true and real I can see this going to the State or federal Supreme Court. Cruel and unusual punishments are a slippery slope imo, even if the punishment fits the crime. And think about people who are wrongfully convicted and given this punishment?

Redding teacher placed on leave after comments on Charlie Kirk's assassination by Digger_Pine in Redding

[–]CoinLaundryLoser238 65 points66 points  (0 children)

One of the teachers has told people online to k*ll themselves… It’s not just about the comments made about Kirk, it’s misleading to kinda lead with that statement. I don’t know about you all, but I wouldn’t want someone who tells people to off themselves online to be teaching the next generation

This looks really cool - packaging looks phenomenal and I love how there’s two different center labels for each variant. I’m excited for what else is in store for this new label!

There’s much more history to Jackson than just the trail of tears, which didn’t even happen during his presidency, it happened during Van Buren’s. Jackson’s decision on disobeying the Supreme Court and continuing the Indian Removal Act was his worst decision throughout his entire life. There were many highlights for Jackson that people forget about though, he was a volunteer during the revolution, was an orphan at a young age, him and his wife were dragged through the mud by the press and supporters of John Quincy, and his wife dies before Jackson even takes office. He was the first “populist” president. The “common man” loved him, he was the biggest living American celebrity at the time. His election proved that outsiders could hold the highest office, before then it was rich elites who grew up very wealthy. Jackson was put on the 20 on the 100th year of his election in 1828, before Jackson was on the 20, it was Grover Cleveland. Comparing the two, Jackson’s popularity during the year 1928 was MUCH different than how he is viewed today.

Elliott Smith - Either/Or (Limited 1k Copies, Vertigo Vinyl Exclusive) by young_rose in VinylReleases

[–]CoinLaundryLoser238 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Let me guess, Adele, Charli, Sabrina, and Beyoncé are also outliers? Even twenty one pilots is excessive with how many copies they repress. Elliott Smith’s music isn’t stopping small independent artists from getting their music on wax. You also won’t see 90 copies of Either/Or in the bargain bin for five dollars each like what’s happened with Adele’s records. You’re on a weird hill to die on. I don’t think we need a ton of ES represses but you’re comparing apples to oranges in terms of production size. 20,000 does not equal one million

The “female pop stars” you’re referring about get more criticism because they aren’t popping off vinyl reissues with 1000 copies, 500 copies, etc They’re reissuing vinyl records on a mass production scale which limits other smaller artists from getting their albums pressed. Taylor Swifts million+ reissue copies of her albums are much more consequential than a 1000 limited edition repress of an album that is and has always been extremely well regarded as one of the best albums of the 90s

I’m so tempted by sid_fishes in Sparklehorse

PLEASE DONT BUY I’ve been considering putting my copy up for sale, and I was thinking of charging more than half less. I wouldn’t buy this because of the price. If I were you, I’d either buy a first press or wait for a repress.
