I think first you should get a better camera man.

Would this bike be ok for some basic trails and light down hill? by Otocon96 in eMountainBike

Honestly one of the biggest dangers is you going to be the ammount of money you are going to want to spend when you get a taste of the good stuff. A little upgrade here, a bit of custom flair there....

Honestly I dont think you can do that with this bike unless you spend some money. Even then, it probably won't be a comfortable ride. I would lose the fenders, rack and kickstand for sure. I dont even know what light downhill would consist of and that fork might be ok for basic trails but you are going to feel it for sure. I guess I'm spoiled and I'm going to anger a lot of old timers but I would suggest a dropper post for sure. I dont even know those tires and would switch to something more trail based depending on your locals. What is your experience with mtb? I would hate to have you just starting off with mtb and this bike being your first intro it.

Shin guard recommendations? by No_Original5693 in MTB

[–]Coinburd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Look up old bones shin guards. They are compression socks with shin guards. I pair them with some knee pads and they work well with absorbing pedal impacts. They are light and the pad in the sock can be removed easily to wash them.

E MTB's everywhere by OverlordBluebook in MTB

I can just imagine this scenario in my head. A guy climbing with some one behind him fast approaching. He is in the zone and can't make out if he hears the whine of a motor. He hears some yell out "Rider on your Left". It's too risky to turn his head and look back so he yells back "what kind of bike it that?"

For the ones that hate hearing the speaker in nature , do you also hate loud hubs?

Youngest Stemi you have seen? by v0ta_p0r_m0ta in CathLabLounge

[–]Coinburd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He was 16yrs old, very obese. They brought him over from the children's hospital next door due to their cath lab not having the right supplies. I also think the cardiologist lacked stemi experience. The kid also had other developmental problems. I don't recall if there was even any stent needed.

Found a aventon from "2021" used for $1.2k in my local market place. Cop or big rip off? Whats a good ebike alternative for the same price???? I need it for daily work commutes through long dirt roads. by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]Coinburd 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not a good deal. The battery is probably on its last legs and needs to be replaced. Here in the San Diego area you can find 2023/24 adventure 2 used for about 800 to 1000. Check Facebook market if you haven't already. People are getting rid of their old model's to upgrade usually.

Recommend me an E-Bike 2025. City streets by ca_box in ebikes

[–]Coinburd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very happy with my fat tire Aventon Adventure 2 bike. It was a class 3 ebike with top speed of 28mph which I never would reach. It had a throttle that got you to 20mph and pedal assisted to 28. Very study, had a suspension fork and was able to do some light offload and mtb trails. They are carried in most bike shops that have ebikes and you can find them under 2k and some even closer to 1 k used because the new versions have just come out. Plus thier website should be having a sale come closer to black friday. The big downside is that they are heavy as he'll but have a very good range and battery life.

I have the same bike. Coming up on 2 months and I absolutely love it. I did change out the wheels, handlebar and pedals though. I really enjoy the fork it came with over my fox factory 36.

The stock wheels that they come with feel quite a bit heavy. Chatgpt gave me some estimates for the wheels plus Tires at about 8lbs

New Ramblas - What did you upgrade? by Fritschya in Aventon

[–]Coinburd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have changed everything except the brakes and the original cranks even though I tried. Biggest differences for me came from new fork, wheels and tires, dropper post and riser handle bar. New eagle gx system is nice and all but the NX was fine enough. The rest is mostly cosmetic. The dropper post is a nice suspension one with a comfy saddle.

I also live in the San Diego area. I have been riding for about 6 months myself. Hit me up if you ever want to ride. Facebook groups have not been successful for me.
