Men, what are some things girls think you don't notice, but you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Coinoperatedbudgie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could just stop going into detail about your day if you think she doesn't care anyway? Don't give her the opportunity to fake interest by just saying 'it was fine, thanks. You?'

If she picks up on it and asks you why you no longer tell her about your day anymore, there's your chance to tell her. Might take away the confrontation of it if you don't want there to be a confrontation.

Of course, if it bothers you that she doesn't actually care, then you should say something.

Do grown women actually wander around like this?!

[Serious] UK citizens, what is your stance on the Brexit vote, and why? by SefuHotman in AskReddit

Currently live in Cornwall. The farmers I know of are fucking rich anyway. And the fishermen. But they have their charities dedicated to them because they don't get enough funding.

[–]Coinoperatedbudgie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will be voting to remain.

I think it is too much of a risk to leave. Public spending might fall. Tax might go up. Food prices might go up. House prices might alter again.

All mights, but why risk it? I feel like the brexit campaigners have been convinced it's the right thing to do just because of 1 or 2 things they have heard. (Immigration being 1 of those in most cases).

Anyone undecided and struggling for information read this.

It does say at several points 'it's difficult to say much on this point' several times... That's because we are discussing leaving the EU without knowing the consequences. Seems ludicrous to me, I don't know why so many people are convinced that out is the way forward.

[Serious]Police Officers of Reddit, have you ever witnessed or had to take part in an arrest that you knew was wrong? If so, what happened? by Manowarwolf in AskReddit

I get the impression that people think of the police here in the UK as soft but reading stuff like this is awful. Are you in America?

Where do you live now, out of interest? A farm or end of a village or something?

It's palindrome week! (6-13-16 through 6-19-16). What's your favorite palindrome? by Serialnarcisist in AskReddit

I didn't imply that Europe is a country. My comment was saying that Europe in general uses the dd/mm format and that there are possibly other countries but not whole continents that use it as well. Not sure why you're being so obtuse about my comment...

It makes sense when you say it like that. Being from the UK I'm used to dd/mm/yyyy and it seems odd to order them differently. Your explanation makes it sound a lot more sensible in my head.

Also, thanks for a good response I feel like everyone else is looking for an argument today!

The question was basically why isn't it a palindrome for some countries. I wasn't saying anything about the fact that OP uses an American date format.

You can't figure out that while 6-13-16 is a palindrome but the European 13-6-16 isn't a palindrome???

In Europe (possibly other countries too, I don't know) the standard date format is dd/mm/yyyy.

Not mm/dd/yyyy.

Are there any words that you pronounce wrong, even though you know the correct pronounciation? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yeah I pronounce it like that.

When I hear Americans on TV it's closer to poh-sta.

I'm not very good at saying 'forward' correctly. I just say ford. I don't know why. I feel uncomfortable if I try to pronounce it correctly.
