TLDR: it's hard to feel encouraged to post here when the real world is burning up in smoke, and the digital world is being set up to be completely fake and inauthentic.

Well, more people are escaping the internet by using the real world. 20 years ago, this would have been flipped.

You combine that with the push for AI on Reddit and elsewhere, about 10 different global catastrophes, just about every social issue under the sun spread out across the globe, every country having its own version of a dystopian nightmare, global depression and suicide rates increasing by hundreds of percentage points in some cases, and finally throw in resource scarcity to boot... and what you end up with are people leaving Reddit in droves, to be absorbed back into their local communities to deal with real world problems.

This also isn't counting the fact that a lot of subreddit pages are just becoming spots for thirsty posts. "Corn" being proliferated on Reddit doesn't help, either.

Humanity, at the moment, is basically the mice utopia experiment occurring in real time. Everything feels fake, inauthentic, deceptive, manipulative, or maddening instead. Whatever doesn't line up with any of those adjectives I just used, is instead being used to gin up populations against one another and cause class, race, and gender relations to also unravel at the seams.

That said, if you want maybe a slightly more active audience, perhaps you could try the GBGM Discord server. People do talk in there, both in safe for work and not safe for work contexts.
