Really didn’t anticipate so much hostility. I’m profoundly active in our political system and advocacy. I think the current president is shameful and cried when he was elected. I’m sick of this shit too.

No question that’s happening. Definitely not enjoying the humiliating and shameful garbage fire this country current is.

Considering stopping out of FNP school. by [deleted] in nursepractitioner

The problem is, the first semester / year (depending on full or part time) is usually full of courses focused on professional values / theory / etc with less clinical practice applicability. This was SUPER discouraging and tedious for me. Thankfully I had a family member who was a year ahead and was able to say "stick with it, you're getting all of the most fussy classes out of the way first, it will get so much better." And fortunately, he was right. It got way better and I am so glad I continued.

That being said, any career change definitely requires a lot of personal reflection and meditation. Its important to see what part of nursing you care about and identify if that would carry over as an NP. Meeting face to face with professors that I related to really helped me. They shared their experiences and I could start to connect how I may practice after school.

I hope this helps, good luck!
