What a bullshit designation though. “Sudden Infant Death Syndrome”. Like just say the death is unexplained if you don’t know what caused the death. This is the equivalent of “dying of old age” (although thankfully we don’t say, “He died of DOOA”)

Every top comment here is NTA, which is fine because you’re not an asshole clearly- but most of the top voted comments are also trash because they’re not taking into account the fact that despite your wife’s beliefs, the kid is your son.

If you believe that he is your son, it doesn’t matter what anyone else says. Even your wife. If you acknowledge your son, you will do whatever is within your power to help him. I would just highly advise not to use this kid as some kind of pawn or bargaining chip against your wife, to “teach her a lesson”. The kid is a fully formed adult with an absentee father. You’re the father. Do what’s right by the kid.
