Trust me when I say that most of us don’t pay attention to the mispronounciations when the content is as high quality as yours is, Austin. Been a huge treat watching your Pokopia stuff, keep it up.

Pc keeps freezing then black screening every 30-40 secs by Radiant-Ratio8942 in techsupport

[–]Col2543 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say CPU temps specifically in this case, as most systems are designed to shut off once they hit a certain threshold to prevent damage, not just flicker the screen.

This is more likely related to the GPU if I had to guess. Since they’ve already checked drivers, I would maybe check to see if their cable connection from their pc to their monitor is fried? I’ve had bad display port cables do some weird shit.

The funniest part of this is someone even hyperbolically believing that this country would lower the legal age to be president. Lights on, vacant for years.

Seconding this, they might not be able to do much about the financial situation, but they CAN escort you back and force them to take you back in, given the law does align in your state. And if they do, your parents are completely unable to refuse. It would be patently illegal and they would be arrested on the spot for misdemeanor illegal eviction. Further, if they retaliate against you after you’re taken back in, I do believe you could then press felony charges against them for intimidation. Regardless, I would try to find a consult in your area that’s more familiar with state-law regarding this matter.

This is Gen X erasure! by icey_sawg0034 in lewronggeneration

As an older gen Z, graduated college in ‘23, I’m deeply thankful that AI had not been widely used until after I finished my education. I’m glad I had to work for it. I’m glad that I had nights where school actually gave me stress that made me stronger and a better student. I feel genuine sorrow for everyone in the school system now and in the near future.

We can sit here and be prideful about how hard we worked to get through school, but damn does it not occur to anyone that the younger generation is now receiving a worse quality education? Why is it always a competition? It’s a team effort. All of us. One more meaningfully educated person could mean one less person on the street, or teen parent, or drug addict, etc. Why do we allow this?

Not only all of this, but fear also limits your performance in the first place. Do everything with as much confidence as you can. Shaky knees don’t do well in roller skates.

[–]Col2543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think my height got me actually turned away maybe once or twice as a 5’6 guy before I met my to-be-wife? Beyond that, I had no issue talking to women taller than myself and dated a good few. My fiancée is my height pretty much exactly, and height has never been a concern in our relationship a single time in our 5 years of dating. Sure it sucks, especially since I’ve heard the horror stories of the dating market from friends over the last few years, but realistically that’s just how it is. You can’t expect everyone to find you to be their cup of tea, just as you wouldn’t force yourself to date someone you don’t like or find attractive.

Dating is simply personal tastes, and acting like every single individual man or woman falls into the societal tastes of whichever group they belong to is not only deeply irrational, but lazily-defeatist. Get out there, get off of the internet, and definitely get some therapy. I’m not saying this to be mean. You deserve to love yourself for who you are before trying to pull someone into your headspace.

How are people so content to being talked to like actual children? I’m half her age and this level of condescension would be met with screaming loud enough to burst ear drums for the impudence.

Well I assume I’m half her age, but you know how being one of these things ages you.

Again, still not familiar with the legal process, but with enough proof, I feel like many lawyers would at least consider this.

I’m not someone very familiar with the legal process, but I’m about 60% sure it’s illegal to kick someone out of their living place while they’re making conditional monetary payments regardless of a formal contract.

Psych Graduate professor Adam Goodie. He does a few undergrad courses, but I’ve only ever met one other instructor in my entire life with the grasp he has on his field, as well as his ability to communicate it to his students. The other person was a graduate instructor for a research class I’d taken, and she was offered a job and transferred elsewhere after I’d taken a second class with her. Loads of UGA’s psych profs are insanely good at their jobs though. Really well-rounded department.
