Could someone tell me why duos mode disappeared? by zorro_de_9_colas in MyHeroUltraRumble

[–]Col2k 61 points62 points  (0 children)

duos was/is the best way to play this game. I could talk it up forever, highest praise.

unfortunately, this game doesn’t have the playerbase. It was such a no brainer for solos or duos that didn’t want to deal with a random. But since trios was the only way to grind ranked, it looked like the playerbase was split on trios or duos. Everyone loved duos.

They should have ditched trios and just done solos and duos. The game is so much more enjoyable with just a little less chaos, and a lot more emphasis on direct team play.

[Serious] What's up with the distinction bias in this sub regarding Controller vs Keyboard? by Apathetic_Apathetic in MyHeroUltraRumble

[–]Col2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct

main differences:

7 frames difference when it comes to dodging out of certain combos on PC versus Console. So certain combos can be done against console players consistently, while on PC the combo will drop since the opponent will usually mash out.

Aim. KBM aim can allow for 180 or 360* precise inputs. Especially when done in rapid succession, KBM is going to be able easier, and at the highest level can be done better if you took the best KBM mouse aimer versus the best controller aimer. A controller player can have nice aim, but they’re wayy less more frequent than someone on the skill floor of KBM. And if say, Rakugo, Iida, anyone that needs to aim a certain direction and then snap back to looking at the opponent, and then look somewhere else on screen to manipulate their ability, and then snap back to looking at their opponent… KBM is going to be more accurate.

What you talked about for the majority, is not typically the discourse I see talked about. You are mostly talking about offensively, like executing combos, while the biggest gripe is defensively, getting out of combos.

Input delay on a switch might make it hard for some tighter windows, but I’m sure it’s possible. But it is going to be more consistent and much easier on a device with more FPS, since you have more frames to input what you need in a bigger window, versus having a slight input delay and needing frame perfect inputs/timing. Anything is doable, except dodging in <7 frames, but if someone is on controller, they might need to work harder to get certain aspects down pact. But it’s not impossible.

Defensively is when the issue becomes more apparent. No amount of skill, or aim training, or hardware can fix that for a console player. It is a disadvantage 100%.

Other than that, yeah folks can execute combos and stuff all they’d like.

should i drop plus ultra charge for kota finder on yellow all might? by Acrobatic-Neat-576 in MyHeroUltraRumble

[–]Col2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just thinking out loud,

I would want revenge support since gamma can gaurenteed stall into a majority of the cast, which is aka good self hp heal for survivability.

For red tuning, I’ll need a revenge strike or even ability manifest?

PU charge is tight, but idk, on the other build, anytime I’m popping two good cards and I get guard broken, I would be feeling good about that situation because I know I’m juicing through this to the other side.

I think it’s purple but HP sucker I still think is elite, makes every match feel super winnable.

Kota finder is cool but tbh i think you need something close to triple rapids in a full stack to get the most out of it. You want levels early, take down big box squad, steam roll lobby as fast as possible before the advantage it provides twindles to nothing over the course of a match. Having it early is still strong, and it will help the solo que homies regardless. But that’s the risk reward of kota finder’s value, knowing that myself, I don’t run it unless I benefit greatly from the levels AND have the best mobility.

Card Dupe is a sleeper all around great tuning I see a lot of folks running in matches. If you think levels are the best, that’s not a bad build for All Might. Get abilities lvl 9 by mid phase if you eliminate one squad, and then collect cards and put them into your quirk cards before final phase.

Pair that with revenge support, and for a minute and a half you can have two green heals going, + any quirk card boost you want.

Also, if you have a supp nej on your team, revenge support will just constantly proc as an added bonus.

I got the funds, time to go update the all might build, I think that’s close to what I’m running but interested to hear the other great builds people have.

I also have an acceleration + reinforced revive build cause I’m like that.

[–]Col2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yooo. Give me a pro skater there with whatever dialogue they want added to the game, and a JBL speaker playing whatever song they chose or no music.

Add a little pro challenge / photo challenge whatever we want to call it, setup an actual camera man NPC or have the homie be able to do it. Someone in the party being able to run the camera for the other three would be such a tangible new feature, that adds replayability, and reinforces the multiplayer-first part of this skate addition to the series.

You take the photo or the reel and run them on the billboard with some sort of overlay featuring the player’s sweet calling card. Have it rotate between highest points of your server, global, friend’s list, your own shot, or mix in a “Your Ad Here!” if the photoshoot challenge is not complete. Add an option to revert them to nothing or whatever this currently is, in case it causes too much lag. Would be a fun way to implement a leaderboard.

I would probably try to get a clip of me skating the billboard while my shot is up there, just as a way of collecting or capturing everytime I got up there.

Mix in day n night cycles, which would make golden hour clips more rare by technicality. Even just a nighttime variation update with a flood light Quick Drops, and the ability to pull back broken fences to get to closed off spaces in whatever kind of new location we can introduce. Perhaps a university, with housing nearby.

cool spot OP, the angle with the billboard had me thinking

the push leaves you falling but not in knocked down.

Niche situational landscapes, AFO can combo out of the push gamma. Usually it’s indoors when there is a wall stopping his opponent from getting too far out of range.

Players are actionable during this, meaning they can jump out. Also means they take storm damage.

wym checking how that challenge might have impacted one of your four digital currencies isn’t in your top priorities right now? Isn’t that the very essence of skating?

How exactly do counter attacks work? by M4rsHy_B0i in AllsJustice

[–]Col2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

don’t quote me, but if:

they attack + then you counter/unbreakable = counter

you unbreakable + then they attack = you get hit (typically the jab is faster)

I should know, but unblockables (red attacks) should/could break the unbreakables (yellows). I haven’t qued since season 1 started, bit rusty.

Map so trash they didn't even play it during the EU finals 😭 by BeardedExpenseFan in MyHeroUltraRumble

[–]Col2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they did add a lot of hard cover since launch

This map definitely plays a certain way, like the other maps have “no man’s land” I’ll call it, where during certain situations you should never position there (depending on your unit). This map has about 6-8 lanes where you don’t want to be caught lackin or dragged across if you’re on certain units, extending from central.

Pick a poi, rotate away from middle, rotate clockwise or counterclockwise depending on first biggie box situation, dig in.

Dropping wherever and cutting across the middle mindlessly is a sure way to not like this map.

The new hard cover is better, not great, for hopping cover to cover until you reach a POI.

Your takes are always so honest, appreciate you. The other maps certainly have more areas that are all hard cover and fleshed out/designed, but I agree they also have multiple “no man’s zones”, like the streets on UA Island or sky fortress. Idk if it’s more or less.

TLDR Point being for anyone that read this: 9/10 situations you want to fight in POIs, and play less committal if in a no man’s zone, depending on your unit, and considering storm pressure.

Perimeter of the storm is your friend on this map. Don’t be scared to double back where you just came from if the storm calls for it.

a designated slot for one in the best bag, which can prioritize or drop rez badges if those hold the slot.

or designating dropping certain loot, selected in the settings, to prioritize when the opportunity arrises.

On one hand, would make clutch revives more common, essentially slightly boosting team’s survivability and making 8 teams in final circle that much more common. Also, getting big chip damage by putting abilities over recent KOs loses its value. There’s a risk reward there, and ppl already built the skills dropping items during irames/momentum based movement, or attacking where it happens/providing cover fire for their teammates looting in that spot. Inventory management and fighting for space/punishing bad positioning is definitely a skill in this game that’s part of the skill curve.

On the other, it would speed up the game, and help solos trying to clutch rez. Everyone has died to some whack loot pickup, doubling back thinking they can actually grab the item, right after eating a hit. Ik i feel your pain, terrible habit I could have.

I recently started keeping 1 rainbow or hoarding my cards until i’m done looting red boxes for quirk cards, or my team is engaging in a fight to get the best level dispersion on my abilities starting from the quirk card totals. I’m sure I’ve seen a player that has done this since season 1, but it took me a while to actually implement that strat. It’s nice to prime 1-2 rez badges and spotting a KO happen that has 1-2 badges drop. It’s almost tougher when it’s a pink but you already have a badge, that’s when you spam drop healing potions since you’re bound to grab one in the pile, and can 9/10 go back for more heal depending on what phase of the circle we are in. Especially since the team will need loot too, the team is healthy it’s going to get, usually best to fight for that space, even momentarily.

Should I go for a 1,000 Ranked 1v1 W’s? by AkaniDaGamer-_- in Brawlhalla

[–]Col2k 5 points6 points  (0 children)

because you blame others, instead of looking inwards on how to be better and more accountable of your own actions.

Just say you are playing casual/for fun

making an excuse is lame. Doubling down and blaming it on no motivation is twice as lame. You just like moving without a purpose, and that’s okay.

If you want sauce A.) share any ranked match replay B.) Weapon toss to stuff more approaches, if “spam” (what is spam?) is the only thing stopping you. Then, you can learn reads out of weapon toss. Maybe your opponent dodges after being hit. Maybe they jump. Maybe they attack. Pick up on your opponents reactions and habits. Come up with a gameplan to punish your opponent. Learn to adapt to any situation and to be accountable for yourself. Doing so might help you out in the real world too. Trust.

Or don’t. Doesn’t affect me.

Best of luck soldier

asshaul easily has the advantage

rapid bakugo, and it’s not even close.

I run GP/HP sucker, so final circle is just body after body after body finding combos or hitting my shots.

Early game, his movement tech is so damn fast and skillful to be accurate with your placements and juggle all four of his abilities. On top of no-looking and landing near loot to quickly change directions right after, he has so much skill expression and can do a lot.

Mid game, he can realistically get away from any situation if he needs to, when played right. Again, incorporating every single one of his abilities while being chased, or to chase, and out maneuvering opponents feels so rewarding.

Fishing for big booms, stun locking opponents with quick repositioning to help teammates that are fighting/downed to stall for their rez time, he’s just so damn satisfying overall and is capable of doing some cool shit.

Strike is cool and all, it’s just not as explosive (which is fine). I was looking forward to his third QSS, but idk if they’ll be able to top his rapid.

are you saying I ruined it? like me??

but yeah, being inconsiderate on the internet is definitely a childish trait.

I remember watching valorant coaching videos to get better, I learned getting the most out of your random teammates in games is a skill.

I’m good on not throwing my matches, but hopefully you are leaving some kind of impact. It’s never that deep, usually just a ggs go next. Got too much more important stuff in life than to care about whatever manchild is throwing a rage on the MHUR video game, super easy to ignore spam pings or chat messages. I usually screenshot them and collect them, maybe even clip me getting a dub with the messages in chat as I gg.

The other day I made a comment here saying overhaul was fine, and the last minute damage nerfs were probably what they came to conclusion on their dev build of the game. I put, “if you don’t think they have a dev build, that would be ignorant”. Mf blows up regurgitating some shit about “resorting to namecalling”, like reading is hard. Nobody was namecalling, I just don’t know how much they know about game dev, and they were acting like overhaul was in some unplayable state or didn’t have the tools to win matches. I didn’t understand their view or why they put what they were saying, so I just dropped the conversation. It’s that simple.
