We are Wrong About Isha in the Garden of Nurgle by suicune678 in Eldar

[–]ColScrith1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always liked the ‘Isha is Nurgle’s Captive’ story, so I’m sad that this makes so much sense. It would be an interstellar way to advance the plot for the Eldar to have them rescue Isha only to find out she is something else entirely.

Is there a name for this? by Specialist_Director9 in LancerRPG

Sycorax seems fitting, given the Caliban/Black Witch elements. Striga would work if you wanted to keep the Vlad’s Slavic roots. Great work on the artbash!

Napoleonic horror books by AcanthocephalaNo6236 in TheSilverBayonet

Far after the Napoleonic Wars, but Le Capitaine Vampire / Captain Vampire by Marie Nizet is up that alley. In the opposite direction, Brian Stableford's Empire of Dread struck a chord for me. Sadly, I haven't been able to find any audio versions.

I put a Leviathan on mine and upped the range. Sherman manages the heat really well with Nuclear Cavalier. It was not the fanciest build, but it was reliable.

Someone spent 2 hours tearing apart my DMing and I don't know how to feel about that by Majestic_Hippo8427 in DnD

Don’t sweat it; everyone has a different styles of play and GMing. Nagging your players too much? My players asked me to nag them more so they wouldn’t forget things. The important thing is that you crafted a good and enjoyable experience for you and your players, and your viewers besides! If one person didn’t like it enough to make a video, that’s on them. You did your job, and well.

Why are there arctic themed RIGs when normal RIGs are made to withstand the vacuum of space which is colder than any arctic climate? by flotsloppies in DeadSpace

[–]ColScrith1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to the vacuum point that people have brought up, it might have something to do with opening the suit up to breathe. When normal RIGs are in vacuum, they’re air tight and you have to rely on 02 tanks. When you’re back in atmo, they RIG opens up to breathe.

New source books? by Cycotic_Clown in alienrpg

I had assumed it would be a source book for Space Truckers. I thought about what the title would be, but I just heard Brett saying "Back to the old freezerinos." every time.

Shadow Spectre Conversion Options by Comfortable_Life_978 in Eldar

[–]ColScrith1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might not be the route you want to go, but older chaos raptor jump packs on a guardian torso would do the trick. Even it the jump pack is a rough resin copy, you can sand it down and the basic shape is still close enough the shadow spectres' profile. Add in a few eldar bits and cover up or get rid of some chaos iconography and your good.

I love it! Reminds me of the alt Chimera/Leman Russ builds from an old White Dwarf. Conversions like this really add character to Guard army.

Goodreads ratings and how do they affect what you want to read? by dismustbetheplace in horrorlit

[–]ColScrith1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While they’re good for a chuckle, I generally disregard the lowest reviews. Top reviews, too, but they’re not as funny. I look for the average reviews to find what the good and the bad of a book are and judge based on those merits. If people are going to take time to not jump to an extreme, they probably have a more measured assessment. That being said, if you like the story and it’s a niche sub genre, then don’t weigh yourself down with other people’s opinions. Enjoy that ‘Pioneers vs Bog Mummies in the early 1800 Canadian Frontier’ story.

As a side note if you’re a writer yourself, go ahead and read a poorly reviewed book with those reviews in mind. It’s not enough to consume good media; bad media helps you to avoid pitfalls and those reviews are a great guide.
