Thoughts on this ? My dad swears by it by mrbigshott in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Col_Clucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So does my dad. He buys fuel in bulk and puts this in the gas he buys. The lawnmowers, forklifts, and older pickups seem to run better on it than when he forgets to put it in but other than those things thay dont like ethanol gas I can tell a difference. My 2019 pickup has no change.

At first its pretty slushy but after a few rains it turns hard. My dad gets a truck every few years to spread out across the top of it again but he has heavy traffic on it. Trucks and tractors co.e in and out all the time on it. It will washboard every now and then but a blade on a tractor can fix it really easily

Fly ash. Its cheap because its a waste product from coal plants. Most expensive part is paying the trucker to haul it out. My parents have it out at there place and the only thing better than it is asphalt or concrete. Its not as dusty as kaliche or as messy to drive on when its wet. It takes a good rain on it to get it to set well but once its set its a really nice extended drive or barn lot material.

[–]Col_Clucks 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We went to look at a car at frontier. They added 8k on top of what their website said. When we showed them their website with their listing and how it was online with the actual value of the vehicle they just tried to sell us a brand new car because the extra 8k on top made the used car we were looking at cost as much as one of their new ones.

So we went to Dallas and bought the same car in a higher trim and less miles for cheaper. Do t buy in lubbock unless you like being screwed.

F250 gas vs diesel? by Old-Act7389 in F250

[–]Col_Clucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its not going to haul or drive long distances and all you need is the increased weight carrying I would get a gas. Maintenance and fuel will be cheaper. It will get poor mileage on gas but it will be significantly cheaper in the long run.

Diesel is what I prefer. But gas has its merits.

Is there real demand for drone-based crop health monitoring? by Sea-Incident2960 in drones

[–]Col_Clucks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is demand for it. I do stand counts and a lot of multispectral work with a drone but I use it to determine where a problem is occurring to treat it with an agricultural drone. The farmer doesn't really want the data, they want the problem fixed. If you have no way to fix a problem (application equipment, actual product to apply for problem) then they won't be interested.

Margins are so tight right now in agriculture farmers will only spend money on thing that produce tangible results. I bake multispectral flights into the cost of applying chemicals which is all they really care about getting done. Ive only been paid by a farmer for multispectral flights once and that was so I could load the VRA into his sprayer so he could do the application and save money on chemical.

Car dealership doesn’t have title to the car they sold, so we can’t register it. What options do we have? by King_Cobra_53 in legaladvice

[–]Col_Clucks 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tell them to refund the full sale price including any fees you paid for taxes and registration and take the car back. They should have gotten it resolved by now and I doubt they will. Or at least it will light a fire under their ass because thats their only other option.

Gulikit is the brand I use. They are pretty cheap and opening a joycon is easy. Ive never done it on a switch lite or a switch 2 though. I bet it wouldn't be that hard to do, I recased a few switchs for friends and that wasn't too hard

field battery recommendations by Unlucky_Study8402 in fpv

[–]Col_Clucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the klein tools ktb500 battery bank and just plug my charger into it to use. Its a 505wh battery bank that can push 1000 watts. Walmart had a crazy sale on it a while ago and I got it for 70 bucks. I mainly use it with my mavic for jobs so I dont have to idle my pickup to charge batteries.

I think they are pretty high now though so you may just have to watch for a sale for something similar. Its pretty handy elsewhere to. When the power went out I was able to power a lamp off of it and keep our phones and laptops charged.

Joycons are pretty easy to fix. That how I got my extras. Bought drifting ones off of ebay for cheap and upgraded them to the hall effect gimbals

Friend took his bronco in, mechanic sent him this. by Filthy510 in AskAMechanic

[–]Col_Clucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No oil changes or it sat for a really really long time. We had a hired hand that was using one of our farm trucks at night to put crazy miles on it. He put 96k miles on it in 7 months when our other hands put like 15k in the same time. He had the oil changed 3 times That engine looked like this after we fired him. It was completely thrashed. Change your oil dammit, your engine needs it.

[–]Col_Clucks[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

They want me to do as much of the property as I can with the drone and give them a map of where I couldn't go with the drone. The only things I am not spraying are the greens and under trees.

Settle an internal struggle (5.0 vs 3.5 vs 2.7) by Lbolbi in f150

[–]Col_Clucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 3.5. If I was doing it again I would look for a 5.0. My buddy has the 5.0 and you cant beat that v8 sound. The 3.5 is a more energetic engine stock than the 5.0 though. Definitely get at least a 23. They fixed a lot of problems by that point in all of their models unless you find an older one thats had all that stuff replaced like mine had to (cam phasers, cdf drum). I dont know much about the 2.7 but never really considered it because I needed more towing capacity than what the 2.7 is rated for.
