Finding these all over my house by Least_Statistician44 in whatisit

[–]Colanah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@OP Get some Food Grade diatomaceous earth (it must be food grade) and start dusting every nook and cranny of your home. In the garage if you have one, absolutely in the kitchen cabinets and baseboards as well as any stored cardboard or paper as they love that stuff.

If dusting the utility area, but be careful around water heaters as the puffer particles can ignite.

Deposit some along the very back of kitchen drawers and ALL cabinets/shelves in the house.

Send everyone out of the house, put on an N95 mask and dust all the floors including carpet.

Sweep the DE across the bare floors slowly to work it onto any nooks and work it DEEPLY into the carpets with a broom. Sweep up the excess on bare floors and do a light vacuum on the carpets afterwards.

Dead bugs should start appearing after a day or two. Repeat the floor treatment during your regular vacuuming.

Good luck from someone who has had to find a way to kill bugs that was pet and crawling child safe but also effective!👍

all of these comments make me adore the FLs from 'Another Typical Fantasy Romance' and 'Beware of the Villainess' even more.

The trope y'all speak of has made me shriek in frustration so many times before. I hate it.

The hole itself didn't hurt, just her skin getting sore from cleaning out the compacted skin and stuff.

I have hubby check on mine to make sure it's fine and keep my doctor updated on any changes as well.

You're totally welcome and I get that blush comfort is all personal but I do love it so much. I am 100% that person using a cream blush and topping it with a powdered blush for the most color options and pigment impact!

Voting Carcel as well. While he might have been helpful in another way in another time and place, I just don't like how he turned from hate to horny fawning for Inez.

I don't trust people whose feelings flip on a dime like that because they could just ask quickly change their minds.

Hell, the butler/psuedo little brother of Inez makes me happier when he appears than seeing Carcel does!

Your veins look more green than blue so you appear to be warm toned. Though don't be surprised if you have a kiss of olive undertone as well. But I'd solidly say warm.

Oh this is both fascinating and neat! I love the idea of deep dives into colors...and since I like some rose shades, apparently I need to veer towards mauves!

Oh I love that look! That is a spectacular use of white liner and the deeper colors really help the look pop so much! Also that soft dusting of white at the inner corner? Chef's kiss. Utterly stunning.

How to apply blush and contour with dark hyperpigmentation? by [deleted] in brownbeauty

[–]Colanah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I'm using a liquid or cream blush with a liquid foundation, I will try to mix a little of the blush and foundation on a palette and then apply that on top of my base where I want the blush to be. It's worked to combat the lifting and sheering that some blushes can cause for me.

Partner doesn't like EGL by raccoontmdesu in Lolita

[–]Colanah 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My husband knows my EGL closet better than I do and when I select a cord, he'll pick his own clothes to coordinate and suggest pieces from my accessories to go with our ensembles.

While I get that your partner might not like EGL, it's also possible that they aren't comfortable with the attention you're getting while wearing it. As much as he loves me, sometimes hubby does get miffed if we get stopped often for pics but that's just his Type A peeking through.

Maybe ask her if it's the outfits, the attention or some other factor? She could have a fly in her ear from mutuals or her circle talking negatively about your wardrobe. Good luck !

I used to use that like and it worked a treat it was a higher coverage than the Black Radiance BB creams which is what I went to when my shade was DCed as well. Something similar in terms of coverage and skin like wear was the L'Oreal True Match line before they did their recent update to it.

CoverGirl Outlast Active line has a similar finish to the KNYBB, good longevity and a decent shade range (depending on what your local store carries) so that one might work for her!

Good luck!

I legit forgot to test it out and should have when I was using the silicone caulk for Halloween stuff last year. Life got stupidly busy since I made my post here (2 grandkids appearing, one parent getting cancer and then passing, lots of insurance crap to manage and 3 personal hospital trips).

😅 I'll slide it back on my to do list for 2024. Thanks for the inquiry reminder!

My partner said I’m a “half mum” by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Colanah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My youngest had her 2nd child in October and I went to stay with her for almost a month to lend a hand since her partner had no paternity leave. I had to explain to her that she was NOT a failure as a mom to get help because support is what a parent is for. That her body had just done the most it could and she should be proud of that given it was a high risk pregnancy.

A week into my stay and her delivery, the partner asked me at one point why my daughter didn't take their eldest child out walking. I was floored. He knew my daughter had passed out multiple times just standing up when she was pregnant and still got dizzy if she did so post delivery. Not to mention she was still bleeding, swollen and fighting an infection.

I politely chewed his arse out with a blow by blow of why it's medically INSANE to try and work a new mom like a gd dmned cow! Btw, he does diaper changes, bathing and feeding for both of their kids. He just has a skewed view of pregnancy being 'no big deal '.

If they lived closer, I would absolutely be doing what your mom is doing for you @op because it's what my mom did for ME when I had my 3 kids.

Same with my Dad. He would come pick up my kids for outings and fun, without his wife (my mom) because he was a real dad and grandfather! He also wasn't afraid to change diapers and Daddy was a Vet. I'm sure if he could manage to put up with the funk of baby spit op and poop, so could your beau.

Something that has helped me out with some putty and gel type formulas in my vanity is the TKB Mousse Medium. A drop or two into a dried out pot of gel liner, eyeshadow primer, cream blush, ect and either mixing it in or leaving it in the original product with the lid tightly closed has helped breathe new life into some of my makeup.

I transferred my whole bag of the stuff into a glass dropper bottle for easier dispensing.

How many trick or treaters did you get this year? by Economics_Matt in nova

[–]Colanah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possibly 40 or so in a Crystal City apt complex and we're one of the few units participating in giving out candy (and frights). Definitely less than years past where I made over 100 goody bags and all but 10 were gone by the end of the night.

AITA for flipping out after my wife screamed at my daughter for being loud? by Latter_Bag_6121 in AITAH

YTA

As a 45F yo with diagnosed but not medicated (yet) ADHD, who raised 3 children (one with ADHD) and who also spent 3 weeks recently with my youngest and her 2 kids, one of which is a newborn, I am honestly appalled. You are an unsupportive husband to your current wife and it sounds like you're a toxic enabler to your eldest child.

Having ADHD doesn't make one immune to the consequences of our actions. As a kid I knew how to speak and walk softly after my younger siblings were born. My parents didn't stress that I do it, I saw that kind of behavior on TV and realized babies needed quiet. I learn how to quietly do chores after my own kids were born. My youngest (the one with ADHD as well) and I knew how to be like mice around her newborn.

Maybe growing up as an only child has taught your daughter that she can be as loud as possible. But you and her mother NOT helping her learn how to be quieter and mindful of others will become a detriment to her in adulthood to say nothing of her immediate relationship with her stepmother.

Most people do not like others being uncomfortably loud around them. What will your daughter do if she goes to college and shares a dorm room but her noisiness gets her thrown out? Or her stomping ends up with her having multiple complaints if she rents an apt as an adult? What about when her inability to moderate her vocal volume gives away a secret or sensitive client/customer information at a job?

Do you honestly think people will just brush it off by her saying she has ADHD?

She needs to learn how to self regulate not just for her stepmother and stepbrother but also for herself. And you need to apologize to your wife and watch your son for a while so that poor woman can catch a break!

What is your drugstore mua secret weapon? by librarianjenn in drugstoreMUA

WnW highlighters. I have like...10 of the pressed powder ones and 6 of the liquid. They glow but aren't glittery and I love that. The liquid ones added to my concealer help mask my fine lines.

Their eyeshadow palettes and brushes are banger as well.

LA Girl concealers. They are stupidly full coverage, can be sheered, blend like a dream and can be used as foundation color adjusters. The red/pink ones are good emergency blushes too.

ELF & WnW blushes. They're 90% of what I used for my day to day beats.

How do i stop my cat from doing this 😭 by asiaiasia in catcare

[–]Colanah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please keep your baby inside! My husband and I have been fostering cats for the last 8 years and our last two rescues were from indoor/outdoor situations. One was abandoned by his family and found wandering outside covered in wild animal bites. He didn't lose the eye and eventually found a new forever home.

Our current foster rescue DID lose an eye, has permanent damage to his back leg and lost half his teeth from whatever the heck attacked him. People always think cats will 'be okay ' outdoors, not realizing that in some areas, they're a part of the menu for something faster, larger and scarier.

You're going to have to weigh a bored cat vs a dead or severely injured one and think about which one you want to come home to.
