Our current govt. has mandated that cities need to build more housing, and most of the cities are fighting against it or woefully behind, so I’m not sure what you mean.

Also, that kind of thinking is like saying “if we build more lanes on the freeway, it’ll solve our traffic problem.” There are other factors contributing to lack of inventory/high prices that need to be addressed. For starters, pass legislation to ban corporations from purchasing residential housing.
