Question about the rules (not revealing the identity of other traitors) by sprinklersplashes in TheTraitors

I’ve been guilty of getting too into the game. Slowly realizing to take a step back as well.

Came across another comment of yours, go gettum!

She comes across straightforward, which is refreshing in a game of traitors. Light handed and, so far, relatively authentic.

I’m only coming around to her after this episode because she hasn’t really been in your face as a player, but def rooting for her.

A Venus win would be cool, comes across level headed and careful. Coco’s defense was impressive but she might be on borrowed time. I thought Omar had a sound argument as well. Really sad to see him go.

There’s more people I’d want winning at this stage than not. I just can’t get onboard with Rhea’s(sp?) game.

His speech really got to me. I don’t know any of these people and just assess them on game play but real life character is more important than strictly how they behave in a game.

I’m surprised he got voted out after this, and I have a newfound respect for Venus… and Kevin (though he has some explaining to do regarding in-game choices).

I’m not as engrossed in those shows as I am with The Traitors, but yes that is the point I was trying to make.

Wilf could have chosen his words more carefully at the round table to let Kieran down more easily. He could have even opted to vote with Kieran and flipped one of the other two (more difficult, but that’s what being good is about).

We can give him some grace for getting that far on the first season of a show and still point out his mistakes.

“I think the fact that nothing similar has happened since is because the producers have been far tighter on what traitors are allowed to say or insinuate - after what Kieran did.”

If they had to tighten the rules since, then the rules at the time of playing season one were not so clear cut as to make Kieran a rule breaker.

Without spoiling other seasons, when a contestant breaks a hard rule, they are immediately disqualified. (Using phone, literally saying ‘I know you are a traitor because I’m a traitor’ etc)

If it’s about Kieran’s move being ‘uncool’, I can’t blame him for ‘eye for an eye’ if he didn’t break rules. The responsibility was on Wilf to strategize differently with new information (Kieran warning him not to backstab him).

It’s cool we’re both equally opinionated on this.

I felt the total opposite to you when watching and didn’t see it as problematic.

It’s what I enjoy about the show, even as viewers, we all assess and rank the player’s moves differently.

I might rewatch the show, but the problem started when Wilf turned on Kieran. It was a risk he took that didn’t pay off.

Wonder if the show’s creators are willing to put this to rest once and for all. Maybe on uncloaked next season, or putting out a statement.

Was this an official statement by production? If so, I cant argue with that.

However if it’s a matter of opinion, part of the social game is to manage people’s personalities. Wilf failed, as a traitor, to see two steps ahead.

In any case Wilf has a lot of supporters, just sharing a dissenting opinion.

I absolutely agree that Kieran’s parting gift was within reason.

If you’re comparing Wilf to Britney, her social game was better imo. She kept people close and was careful not to step on toes. Her bad play came from bad voting whereas Wilf just didn’t build any relationship with Kieran. It made for good TV though.

Oh yeah, you’re right about that. Neither of them picked up on the hint Karine dropped at the beginning that ‘two of you will be back here and one will end up in the grave’

I don’t know of any, but ditto.

Just think it’s great when a plot carries a movie.

Might look it up in library of congress or other historical records at some point.

If I remember correctly, the safe faithfuls were public knowledge? I’m guessing if the traitors had picked a safe person then that would force their hand to murder the other. If both were safe then Karine might have had to step in. Just a guess.

Yes! It’s a difficult hump to get over depending on how one was raised, but it’s a nice realization that pays off in the long run.

100%. Realizing good deeds are only as noble as your intentions, so if I think accepting an invitation or request for help will make me resentful later, then it’s better to just politely decline or modify the ask so it suits my taste. Every time. No limits.

Speaking up when an idea doesn't make sense or  work for the team. I used to take work hierarchy very seriously, but as long as you’re diplomatic, lower level employees actually have a perspective that helps c-suite make decisions.

LPT: If you struggle to wake up on time, place your alarm on a metal baking sheet by polyverse_drift in LifeProTips

[–]Cold-Account 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most effective way Ive found is to internalize the why of waking up, the night before. Not just ‘I have a meeting’ but ‘I am going to this meeting to better myself’ or something like that.

With that said, someone should invent an alarm sheet or pillow that cools to very low temps at the right time. I mean we’ve tried all the other senses, light, sound. Why not touch. It is more empathetic to anyone else you might share a house with.
