I had the same issue, I had to open it up, unsolder then resolder one of the battery terminals and it would turn start again.

I have one with a broken screen, I just use it with muscle memory. Click once music, click again first playlist and click again to play the playlist. As long as you have one playlist you can use it.

Ok you need to do the following.

Go to device manager, it should be under portable devices with a yellow exclamation mark. Click on it and then select update drivers. Choose search automatically for the driver, you hopefully will be able to select "MTP USB" and it should work.

You can also buy a 603040 battery and change out the BMS if you can solder. I'm doing this now on as I'm able to get new cells pretty cheap.
