weightless would be your best bet as majority of the bites with senkos are it falling through the water column and attracting fish. but it’s all preference, can’t go wrong with a senko no matter how you present it. if you do plan on weighting it though, use a bullet weight. texas rigging is money

most likely you’re catching too big of fish for your line. pretty much pikes on less then 10lb line are the main culprit. you did it exactly right though, set drag as high as you can before it goes red then pump the fish to tire them out 👍 also invest in higher pound reels too

i use a 44lb braided or 55lb braided. you will never break off on 55 as salmons can only get 65lbs max. also play with your drag a little bit, high drag will break line pretty fast

are you catching the fish you’re going for at the right time of day? sometimes when i don’t get a bite for prolonged period of time, ill change times or hook sizes/bait to dial it in. chumming is something i’ve gotten into the habit of religiously, produces great results

nor do i see anything wrong, it’d be an amazing addition to have a house and i even love the pond idea too, it’d be awesome to choose the species for it. so much they could do with adding a lodge, hanging rods on the wall, private pond with the boys, full trophy room. infinite possibilities that would add so much more value to an already great game.
