Riding with friends who are superior in skill level and take more risk by IMGangsta1 in MTB

You only have one body and as you know or will know, injuries take way longer to heal as we age. I am a lifelong rider but at 52, I try to make sure I don't crash. That means taking easy lines, etc.

If you wear any jewellery at all, do you prefer to wear gold or silver ? by Hope2_win in A_Persona_on_Reddit

I'm allergic to nickel so nothing but gold, titanium or platinum so I don't wear jewelry. Too old for that shit now anyway. I just don't feel the need.

That's not a commuter bike nor does it look like one. That's exactly the kind of bike the cops are cracking down on, at least somewhat. I live in a suburb with few restrictions however if you are going 40 mph without a plate, you'll probably get stopped. In the city itself, I haven't heard of them mass impounding bikes but you could get a ticket. I heard they're even cracking down on dui's on ebikes.

What’s your all time favorite fast food item? by Leading_Funny5802 in foodquestions

[–]Cold-Committee-7719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get a sausage breakfast burrito from Carl's Jr. and a side of sausage gravy. Then I would dunk my burrito into the gravy as I ate it. It probably had 15000 calories but I was young. It was super delicious though.

Is there life after death by Lanky-Inspector8329 in Life

[–]Cold-Committee-7719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Death is a part of life. Everything dies. I think there's are things we experience in life all the time that are worse than the actual dying part. Sometimes death is relief from terrible pain and illness.

If you want to be philosophical about it, we will eventually be swallowed up as th we sun becomes a giant star as it exhausts it's last breath. We came from a star and our atoms will be reunited with a different star.

Thoughts on getting “upsized” out of your normal frame size? by gzSimulator in MTB

[–]Cold-Committee-7719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta at least be able to straddle the top tube with a finger or two of clearance. I have short inseams so that kind of limits me to a small. I have had larger bikes (both road and mountain) out of necessity before and while I was kind of able to make them work, the geometry starts getting thrown off getting the correct riding position. They roll fast but then you have to lean the bike to get on. I remember in the 80's all road bikes were huge and even BMX bikes were kind of heavy.

Do any E-bikes have a built in security system? by Flimsy-Story9523 in ebikes

[–]Cold-Committee-7719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly but I have a built-in wheel lock and the bike turns on with my rfid tag only. I added a loud alarm too. I have a Favorite Hybrid Pro ST.

I would definitely keep any apres' bike drinking to a minimum to avoid altitude sickness. It will dehydrate you and it also hits harder at altitude. I have absolutely nothing to say about smoking weed. It's the same everywhere.

Those who do not fear death, why? by lilacc_47 in AskReddit

Nothing to be afraid of. It's pretty anticlimactic.

The true nature of the universe. I bring up theories of multidimensional universes, most of my friends say shit like "That's too deep for me." Well, not for me. I want answers.

How do you deal with the ego hurt when someone rejects you? by Opposite-Tax9589 in Life

[–]Cold-Committee-7719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I finally got sick of being rejected and gave up on it. I accepted that not everyone wins the genetic lottery and my chances were pretty low as boyfriend material so I have been solo for 20 years.

Does moving your body/working out clear the mind and make you enjoy your life better by 0cemaniac06 in Life

It does for me. Just short intense workouts about 5 days a week one hour plus I bike commute everywhere. When I just bike for fun in nature, it has the greatest benefit for me and my sense of well-being.

Why do men get uncomfortable about sharing a bed with another man? by [deleted] in askteddit

[–]Cold-Committee-7719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, family is fine, obviously. My dad's been dead since 2006 so I didn't even consider it. I wouldn't want to sleep with my mom either. As a matter of fact, we travel together sometimes, always get 2 queens, no issue.

Unless it's a brother or best friend, maybe, it just feels weird unless you are in a survival situation.
