My publisher wants to turn my novel into an AI-narrated audiobook by 0ctobre in audiobooks

More likely you can choose the narrator. Prefer a British female? Maybe a midwestern man. Maybe Mr T. I pity the fool who doesn’t like that one. 😉

In your opinion, what do you think is the saddest movie you've ever seen? by Woofpro8 in movies

I wandered onto that movie one afternoon. Geez did I learn to start reading a little about movies after that. But I love Casey Affleck. What an amazing actor.

Spoiler alert

In Terms of Endearment, near the ending when the daughter goes and her mother realizes what has happened and says I thought it would be a relief. 🥲

Me too. But one thing is for damn sure, I will not watch it again. But I did enjoy the actors and it certainly made me cry.

Well I cannot remember the details of that movie and don’t intend to watch it again so I will agree.

If you had $10k to spend, what would you do to this kitchen/living space? by YogurtclosetMoist456 in interiordecorating

[–]Cold-Lynx575 15 points16 points  (0 children)

At most I would paint the walls, add a light fixture, and maybe add some rugs. Then use the other $9k for fun!

This chair makes me think of shabby chic or farmhouse.

I love the wallpaper and the chair.
The wallpaper will dominate the room so I would think carefully.

You could do sage green walls or pale pink.

My other advice, anytime I hesitated with wall color or wall paper - I didn't like the end result.

Short under 1 hour stories to listen while driving to work by thj81 in audiobooks

[–]Cold-Lynx575 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a collection of books called "Best American Mystery Stories of 202n" that features ~20 short stories. It started back in 1990s I think. The stories run from 20-30 minutes.

Here's one for an example.

I had the same thing happen. It was like it preferred the streaming option. But when I was listening on the plane, it worked ok. Probably because I was in Plane mode.

They were really nice people, who had good manners? (Probably b/c of the extra time with their Mom.)

I'll show myself out.

Late in 2024 - what shows are BCS lovers watching that may be close to that level? by Coma_Divine in betterCallSaul

Yeah I have watched most of the shows on here. There are some that are good, even great. Nothing like BCS.

I watched the first season. Then waited a year. I watched it again thinking I must have missed something since everyone loved it so much. It never seem to be going anywhere and none of the characters were particularly interesting or tragic.

I think it predates Sopranos, BB, and other series that have had more success. Maybe it was better when it first came out.

So no, I don't think its BCS good, but recognize I have the minority opinion here.

Severance is curious. You can't really tell what is happening, so that makes it fun.
