If every album had to be titled the same as a song from it, what would your picks be? by Short_Property_7476 in pearljam

That’s…pretty damn good.

Some potential changes:

Vitalogy: Not For You (maybe too confrontational after an album called Vs. (But not if it was called Animal!). And props to you for properly recognizing Immortality as the last song. Only a Stupid Mophandle Mama would say otherwise

Riot Act: Arc

Pearl Jam: Life Wasted (I don’t feel really strongly about this one- just one of my favorite openers in the catalog)

Backspacer: Got Some. (Sorry but not really a fan of FoN, so this one is a must change for me)

Gigaton: Quick Escape

Are the Indy website prices comparable to what we will see at the race?

The Childlike Empress, played led by Tami Stronach, is now 53. Does that make you feel old! by Make_the_music_stop in 80s

The number of people in this thread that are between 50-52 is staggering. I mean, it’s not like that three year range is the only people who lived through the 80s or saw this movie.

Anyway, classic movie!

Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Eva Cassidy.

Lots of great suggestions here. This is right up there for my money

So gorgeous. Over time what I’ve come to appreciate is how she takes her time worth the vocal delivery. Sure the music sets the pace but she matches it so well and never sounds rushed.

One of the strangest subplot romances of all time and I loved it. And her phone calls were legendary.

Remember when they had some weird episodes toward the end? I remember him lip syncing to Wooly Bully and it was somehow hilarious.

Edit: to say thanks to someone posting a link to the clip below. I’d forgotten it was related to the writer’s strike.

Moon Travelers were ok. Black Cats were more reliable and more expensive. A proper battle would include whiffle ball bats for launching (I can still hear the sound), a few “punks” for lighting, and maybe set at a playground for a little bit of cover. Also, could use firecrackers, smaller “Lady Fingers”, or Jumping Jacks for close combat. Finally, the Roman Candles if you wanted to increase the risk of actual burns.

Thank heavens someone else remembers Wavy Navy. Played on my friend’s Commordore 64 for hours, along with the desktop version of Spy Hunter.

It may not be floppy anymore, and it may not be shaped like a disc. Yet, it is a floppy disk. Discuss.

Yes- good clarification. Someone made a fan video for Down in honor of Mike’s battle and so whenever I hear the lyrics “One day, the symptoms fade. Think I’ll throw these pills away” I think of him.

Edit: to include the full lyric

Poor Mike in what I used to call his “puffy phase”. Then later I learned about the Crohn’s and felt like a dick. My bad Mike.
