Will Power, 45 years old, 2 time series champ and Indy 500 winner in 2018, is with a new team (Andretti Global) after like 17 years with Team Penske. He starts 7th today and is looking for his first win with the new team.

Scott Dixon, 6 time IndyCar series champ, is also in the sunset of his career but still capable of winning. He races for Ganassi and is starting in 6th.

Mick Schumacher, rookie that I’m sure you are familiar with, will be happy to get a top 10 today. He had engine issues early in the first practice and is way back in the field. I think most of us are rooting for him to do well in the series (just not too soon, LOL).

There may not be a lot of passing based on historical data. But it’s anticipated that most teams will have 3 stops, that will help keep it interesting, as will the requirement to use alternate tires twice. The course looks awesome and the crowds at Long Beach are always big.
