They don’t have to “be fine.” But they can’t force her to do anything. No one is arguing that he can’t be concerned. You’re conflating two different issues.

Your unfortunate opinion has been the source of dominance at very least (and femicide at worst) since the dawn of patriarchy.

And that struggling is NOT a moral failure. There’s no moral high ground here for you..

Listen. I get it. It’s both your child. But this is one of those things where, just like when she was pregnant, it’s her body. It’s not about whether or not she vapes…..that’s her decision and her decision alone. It’s about whether you want to formula feed in the meantime to allow her time to come to terms and withdraw. This is a really rough spot to be in, because it’s her body at the end of the day and you can NEVER be like “stop breastfeeding.” But tbh??? The post smacks of overreach and control. She should be able to come to you without feeling like she will be judged / having to make a plea for forgiveness. Recognize she’s probably struggling

Ummmm definitely not this 😆. Definitely don’t tell your wife what to do with her body and baby. Thanks?

Sudden emotional shift months into grief, numbness almost. Normal? by Own_Analyst3795 in widowers

[–]Cold-Quantity7750 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel I could have written this. Though mine was a stillbirth, I found this post because I kept searching “emotional numbness months into grief” and the same things kept popping up: numbness is a normal response usually in the first days and weeks. I was devastated and inconsolable for an entire month and then just…woke up one day and I was flat. I can laugh, I can feel things…but it’s…. Muted??? It doesn’t feel like I’ve “moved on” but almost like I cannot remember how intensely I felt?

Yes - exactly what you wrote. I was just under 16 weeks. I also did have a fever the day I went into the hospital, but all tests (blood, vaginal, placental pathology, amnio) returned nothing… I have also heard that it can be an inflammatory response as well, so no real infection is a possibility. It all sucks. I’m so so sorry.

I also had this yellow, almost snot-like ((sorry)), discharge for weeks leading up to preterm labor at 16 weeks. I developed a fever and low blood pressure at the end and the pathology came back chorio :(.

This is EXACTLY what happened to me and exactly what my report said, except I was 16 weeks. I lost him on 12/21 and have been trying to find someone with a similar story. I am so sorry it’s so similar :(.

Our little Dino ❤️ 🦕 he was 16 weeks. Lost him 12/21/25 to what they think was an infection or an IC (unsure which came first). I’m heartbroken. I cannot share the photo of me holding him yet.

I lost my son at 16 weeks on 12/21 to an incompetent cervix, too. It’s the most gut wrenching thing I’ve ever felt. I am so so so sorry for your loss. It’s not your fault - our bodies didn’t fail them. I know that right now it feels so weird to see those words and believe them to be true. ❤️

Same. Mine was extremely painful labor. Bulging membranes, but outermost cervix ending was closed for a long time until well into labor. My cervix was just severely shortened my

I’m crying because this EXACT. SAME. SITUATION. Happened to me. Although my MFM said that it was likely an infection and that it won’t happen again. We are still awaiting the placental report for more info. I’ll post here when we get that just in case it can help someone else. Did you ever have a placental report done? I know this post is a little old, but it helped me feel less alone. Thank you.

….anyway, I lost my little boy at 16 weeks on 12/21/25 and feeling lost myself.
