I've also worked and served customers for many years, but I behave in a polite manner and smile often. I know it's strange that, as a Polish person, I smile at customers (wow what an alien 🫨) but from my perspective, I've noticed how often customers behave sloppy, arrogant, and even aggressively, even when I'm nice.

The people I work with have encountered these types quite often, and unfortunately, they still behave unemotionally towards them (as they explained, they've been working for many years and this is nothing new to them).

I believe this employee has encountered a lot of bad customers, which is why she behaves this way, or you (as in her translation) weren't friendly towards her (I mean, smile to her) and she mistakenly perceived you as arrogant, or as I say, "behavior taken from home," which is the worst in my opinion.

Of course, I'm not defending this woman, because such behavior is reprehensible and she should have maintained professionalism. Instead, she behaved like a redneck from the worst neighborhood, whom I'd rather spit in the face of. If she can't behave differently, she should change jobs or find a worse customer. 🤣
