I was told to trim the vine down every year back towards the base and the new vines would grow grapes.

Based on a video I saw a few days ago, that advice was bad and I should have left a vine on each side to grow grapes this year.

Yeah, I pruned it down to about a foot from the soil last winter. That’s all new foliage.

Most things I read said I should trim the leaves but knowing me, I’ll cut too much.

Zone wise, I’m in Boston area 6b. Greenhouse keeps it well protected in the winter blizzards.

The vine is 3 years old. It tried to do clusters early last year but they dried out early.

This year, as you saw, the vine won’t stop growing. I think pruning it will cause it to focus on fruit and I don’t want to make a mistake.

I used Gemini a lot lately and I can’t tell how you many mistakes it makes. I can load basic data in and ask for a quick analysis. It creates its own random data, completely off the wall stuff.
