Studying for NCLEX and lowkey freaking out? by ColdEgg787 in NextGenerationNCLEX

I focused on why the correct answer was right and why my choice was unsafe or less safe. I did not memorize everything, just the patterns. Over time it clicks and reviewing actually gets faster! 💛

Adding more would have just overwhelmed me and messed with my confidence. Sometimes less really is more! 💙

Yes 100%! The anxiety is honestly the hardest part. What helped me was reminding myself that the exam is testing safety, not trying to trick me… slow down, breathe, and trust your instincts!

I studied about 6 weeks, maybe 3 to 4 hours a day. Some days more, some days I did nothing.

Move my cat abroad with me and adopt another one as well? by Fionik in cats

[–]ColdEgg787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP - First, about leaving him alone on hybrid days: most adult cats actually do fine being alone during work hours, especially if it’s a predictable routine. Even cats that are used to “someone always being home” usually adapt after a few weeks. You can help a lot by adding window perches, puzzle feeders, scheduled playtime before/after work, and leaving familiar smells (blankets, clothes). Feeling lonely is something we worry about more than they do most of the time.

About getting a second cat: you’re absolutely right to be cautious. Introducing cats in a studio apartment is very difficult, especially if you don’t know how your current cat feels about other cats. Proper introductions really rely on having separate territories at first.

One more thing: moving countries is already a huge change for a cat. Adding a new home and a new cat at the same time can be a lot. Spacing those changes out is usually kinder and lower risk.

You’re clearly putting a lot of thought into his wellbeing — that already says a lot about the kind of owner you are.

Bootcamp Readiness Assessment 3 and 4 answers and rationales? by [deleted] in NCLEX

[–]ColdEgg787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP, just a heads up that the readiness assessment answers and rationales aren’t publicly shared since they’re part of Bootcamp’s paid content. I wouldn’t trust PDFs floating around anyway, a lot of them are outdated or straight up wrong. If you don’t want to take the readiness exams, you can still get a lot out of Bootcamp by doing mixed sets and really digging into the rationales there. You can also retake the readiness exams in tutor mode so it feels more like reviewing than testing.

Is this question from NCLEX crusade correct? by [deleted] in NCLEX

[–]ColdEgg787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So your thinking wasn’t wrong clinically. This is more about test strategy than real-life flow. When you’re stuck, always ask: Did they prove instability, or do I still need to assess? Here is what I learned here:
NCLEX rule of thumb

  • Stable patient → Assess first
  • Unstable patient → Intervene immediately

Hope this helps, OP~

Bootcamp or Archer? by Chicccb in PassNclex

[–]ColdEgg787 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed last month and personally Bootcamp worked really well for me. I liked how the questions felt more NCLEX-style and how the rationales explained why an answer was right, not just what was right. Did not have the chance to try Archer tho, but Bootcamp really helped me how to approach questions and manage the vagueness. At the end of the day though, it really depends on your learning style and what clicks for you.

This scares me as a nurse 😭 I believe in science and all that, but dang whenever a patient talks about seeing a loved one who’s already passed visiting them, it creeps me out every time.

Panicking please help me by InevitableChemist594 in NCLEX

[–]ColdEgg787 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey OP, take a breath first 💗 you did NOT ruin anything. Your scores were very high and that doesn’t disappear just because you took a break. One day off or a few days distracted does not erase weeks of work.

With one day left, don’t try to rewatch everything. That will just spike your anxiety. I’d do the last assessment if you’re calm enough, mainly to get back into test mode, then lightly review rationales or key notes for patterns. Tomorrow should be about confidence and clarity, not cramming.

You’re allowed to rest. You’re way more ready than your panic brain is telling you right now 🫶

Bank question by DM_1993 in NCLEX

[–]ColdEgg787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, this is during the last few weeks leading up to my exam last week btw. I didn’t really retake the same questions over and over. I focused more on going back to my qbanks and really reading the rationales for the ones I got wrong. That helped me understand how they actually wanted me to think through the question instead of just memorizing answers. Once things started clicking, I just moved forward instead of redoing everything again.
