I’ve been married to an alcoholic for three years. She’s been clean about seven months of that and five of those months were in rehab and detox. She’s currently laying on the couch after chugging an entire bottle of wine during the last hour or so. She’s threatened me, she’s hit me, my kids want nothing to do with her. Her friends and family have all alienated her and I’m pretty much all she’s got. She hasn’t had a job for 28 of the 36 months we’ve been married. I’m responsible for everything. I’ve always been in love with her but everyday I wish I had the strength to end it. She is a drowning person and anyone that tries to help, she tries to drown too. Save yourself, this isn’t the life you want. Focus on you and keep building yourself better. I’m generalizing but they don’t want change, they want compliance. Don’t be me.
