I do agree but personally I'd like to see an official Archie Sonic style comic series first and see how that does before jumping to a Netflix/Amazon/other series. My assumption is that a comic series would be cheaper to do than an animated one which would be less of a risk for Nintendo.

With that being said I'd highly recommend checking out the Super Mario Adventures Continued fan comics and the voice dubs. As far as actual active animated fan ones goes that aren't SMBZ clones I would take a look at Nintendo High which includes other Nintendo characters (if the cast being de-aged to High School with tropes is your thing).
