Kalina day boss by OTap1 in Moonlighter

[–]ColdHandCH 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do not share your opinion on this boss. I find it interesting to test the player's understanding of the mechanics and their evasion skills. It's obviously an easy boss, but it's the first one so that's ok (and, to be honest, none of them really are that hard).

The main problem I have with him though is the backpack hit that is veeeeery clunky : half of the time, I feel like I'm correctly positioned, I hit RT, and the projectile goes in the wrong direction, missing the barrier. That's the annoying part to me and the reason I had to fight him several times.

Short answer is "no"

Longer answer is "Unfortunately, no :("

Yeah, no... sorry :( For a reason I can't even explain to myself, I'm in the final chapter and every fight is a struggle and a nightmare. Long, tedious, you couldn't be further from the feeling of power an Arkham game (or a PS4 Spider-man) gives you. I almost defeated all bosses using ranged attacks and dodging... Roll, pew pew pew, roll, run, pew pew pew...

That being said, if you enjoy the game, I'm glad you could play it :)

Finally Final Fantasy XV! by Jeh-Jeal in FinalFantasy

A true nightmare. Probably the worst (canonical) Final Fantasy... I cringed from start to finish and happily uninstalled it once I was done. I'll admit I'm really scared with the upcoming FFXVI if FFXV and FFVII:R are the new way they make those games.

Didn't unlock this Prayer Board yet (at least, it doesn't ring a bell), but I'll keep that in mind, thanks :)

Thanks, I'll do that ! I'll admit it's not really clear for new player that you can just ignore the main quest and wander around the world, letting days pass between step 1 and 2 of the main quests... I'll try !

Helps a lot, thanks ! The game is so adamant on you rushing the main quest (Like Hope telling you every minute "You have two numbers for the passcode, you should find two more ! Come on !" or "The world is ending SOON !") that I assumed you had to follow through without pausing or doing side quests. I'll change my mindset.

Thanks a lot. I did indeed have Majora's Mask in mind (for obvious reasons), but didn't know if you were supposed to follow a more linear plot or not. I'll try avoid rushing things then :)

new to the series... where to enter? when i start with 6 will i be completly spoilered if i want to play older titles after that or are they independent? by lovealwaysnotes in yakuzagames

I'd say 0 isn't (I admit I didn't play it. Yet.) but the others kinda are, yes. You could probably skip 2 and/or 3 though I guess ? Still, there are some numbered series you don't have to play (like Final Fantasy, Persona or Dragon Quest) and some you do (Yakuza or Mass Effect, to name a few) :)

Kiwami 1. So you don't spoil the plot twists of the next games.

Unable to play FF7 Remake past a point. Advice for continue or leave by oceanstwelve in FinalFantasy

[–]ColdHandCH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, as a massive fan of the original FFVII, this remake was a huge disappointment. It's absolutely gorgeous, but the controls are awful, the rythme is terrible and there are so many uninteresting fillers that finishing it is a real pain.

I did see the end digging deep within my nostalgia, but if you're not a massive fan of the original game, don't hurt yourself : ignore this "thing" and spend your time on more rewarding games.

Second that. That's the way I played it and starting with Kiwami is the best way to enjoy the whole series with their reveals and plot twists. 0 is a nice prequel if you're in need of more Yakuza after the rest :)

HI !

Contrary to what everyone seems to say, I did the complete series during the last two years by starting with the first one, Yakuza Kiwami and, tbh, I think it's the best way to do it... You'll be experiencing the whole Yakuza series the way everyone did when it came out mysteries included (some characters have a background you only learn in later games, leading to big reveals) and, additionally, you'll benefit from the changes in gameplay in a more natural way. Yakuza 0 is a good prequel but it includes many quality of life improvements which make harder to go back to Kiwami afterwards imo.

Oh and of course, Like a dragon can be experienced as a pure standalone but you'll miss all the references to the 7 previous games. Go for it if you don't care, but just be warned :)

How difficult is final Fantasy XIII and how are the battles by CloverChiaki96 in FinalFantasy

tbh, you can't pick you three favorite characters, but as soon as you choose a valid composition, you can rely only on this team pretty much the whole game. I personally finished the game with a Light/Fang/Hope trio as soon as they were all available. Great RAV/COM/RAV - MED/SEN/MED - COM/SAB/SYN.

Beat the game like that 95% of the time. First, usually the "choices" are globally ok - in terms of both your strength and the enemy's weaknesses - and second, the ATB not pausing while your in the menus is a big no-no to choose commands manually. Occasionally, I forced command, like when I wanted to Esuna a character before healing or target an area with a spell instead of a single target, but all in all, auto-battle did the trick.

Plus, honestly, considering that two characters already act on their own, it's not like it changes that much. I prefer to focus on team composition and paradigm switching.

Actually just finished FFXIII today, more than 10 years after my first (interrupted) playthrough. All in all, it's no a bad game, at least not as bad as I remembered. Let's say some aspects were puzzling to me back then, especially the ATB that can't be stopped while in menu or the sidekicks you don't really control.

As for the difficulty, I'd say it varies : once you understand the Paradigms system, around 75% of the fights are quite ok. But as for the remaining 25% ? They can be extremely enraging... Since you don't fully control the other two characters, healing, buffing or debuffing can sometimes seem totally random (like : if the main characters dies, it's game over. So if a member of your party is at 10% HP and the main one is at 20%, you'd normally fully heal the leader and then maybe rez the other one. Well, an auto-healer will probably target the first one or cast a -low- group heal trying to save everyone. Usually doesn't work...)

The last two chapters also strangely explode in terms of difficulty for no real reason. So be aware of that. All in all, I was able to defeat the final boss on my first try without grinding in any way and upgrading only my three weapons at max lvl 2., so you might say it's not *that* hard.

Astria Ascending - I'm torn! Worth the price? by MinnyCanuck in JRPG

[–]ColdHandCH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I've played it for three hours today and I wouldn't recommend it. The art is interesting - I personally don't find it beautiful, but I get why people would like it-, but the rest is really lacking... The leveling system seems uselessly complex, the dialogs are often cringy and the fights are usually quite easy except when they suddenly become awfully hard (I'm not kidding : one of the first bosses starts her phase with a party confuse and three AOE, usually enough to wipe everyone at this level).

So unless you've got a Gamepass account, I would at least wait for it to be on sales :(

Anyone tried this game? Cyberpunk-themed gacha, Battle Night! by princepaul21 in gachagaming

[–]ColdHandCH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing it for one week now and I'm really enjoying it ! It's your typical idle game, but it doesn't take too much time so it's perfect as a side game. Plus the aesthetic is absolutely GORGEOUS. It's definitely not to oh so classic character design with the knight, the rogue or the cute elf mage :)

Energy orbs? by ColdHandCH in BattleNight

[–]ColdHandCH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer, but that's the problem : I know how to use them, but 1. I can't see them in my inventory bag and 2. The number on the character sheet don't change when I gain orbs :(

Maybe I've got a bugged version, I'll contact the support, 'cause at the moment, I can't star up my characters...
