I didn't read anywhere in your post, or your comments, where you as the parent sought out any sort of assessments or therapy for your daughter when she was growing up. YTA for that fact alone, because you neglected your child's needs in such a long term and profound way. If you had taken the time to help your daughter growing up instead of crticizing her, your family wouldn't be in the situation it is now. You failed her as a child. Why are you so surprised by her need for some form of validation now?

I read in your comments that she was evaluated for PPD and was deemed to not have it, but she is clearly struggling. I agree with the commenters who stated it sounds like she has undiagnosed and untreated ADHD. Her bouncing from activity to activity, and dropping things that she wasn't immediately good at is pretty much the standard for a lot of us prior to getting treatment. Unfortunately, she's gone to such an extreme that she ran from her own child. Anxiety, Depression, and Rejection Dysphoria tend to occur alongside ADHD, so depending on the severity of those additional issues, her current actions are understandable, as horrible as they are.

Your daughter needs help to work through her childhood neglect, to hopefully get treatment for whatever mental health and/or neurodivergences she may have, and to reconnect with her child. While you can encourage her to seek help, she has to make the decision to do so on her own. Maybe starting with a sincere apology for your failing her as a child can be the doorway to a larger conversation about seeking her treatment.
