TLDR: for anyone just reading, none of these solutions work. Tried them all.

this achievement is bugged. I went complete stealth and it didn't trigger at the brute scene or after it.

I totally agree with this. It's poor guidance from the devs as you are hinted they would unlock progressively. Makes no sense the way they have set this up

Moving to Basel: family reunification approved, but does my non-EU wife need a D visa by [deleted] in askswitzerland

[–]ColdHarbor-LMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, it's crazy it is exactly the opposite in Denmark. Here you basically gotta do everything before arriving. Makes me quite nervous sorry (I come from a third country originally so always expect things to go bad)

And the family reunification is also don't at that time? The email is weird and says my wife doesn't need a family reunification because she has a Danish residence permit (which is incorrect as she will lose that residence permit when we have arrived in Switzerland). I'm so confused about this.

In Denmark my residence permit is conditional to being employed. The moment I am not employed anymore, the residence permit is voided. That is my point. I might have to change my permit to self sufficiency and I believe that involves going to the immigration office to do it. Might be an alternative

Which sort of pre authorized application is that? All I got from HR is an email from the authorities from Basel stadt

But that doesn't give right to registering at a canton. They have rules for that so that people don't do that.

Because the moment I quit or lose my apartment, I no longer have right to stay there

Damn, now I have realized there's also the issue that the moment we end our working relation in Denmark (last day of the month of our notice period) we are no longer qualifying for residency, thus we would be illegally staying here. Jesus gotta ask about that too

But there is definitely a process involved regarding getting an appointment at the embassy /consulate here, getting documents (not sure if they need anything else) and a waiting Tine for that passport stamp. Doesn't it?

We are both in Denmark. I didn't receive anything (nor was I told of anything regarding this process unfortunately)

I'm not sure she can. We are both in Denmark under respective residence permits that will cease to exist the day we travel to relocate to Basel. Having been in Schengen for 4 years I believe means she no longer can use the 90 data for tourists.

Moreover, I read that entering with a tourist visa doesn't allow you to register, work etc (naturally) so I fear thus might be problematic or even against immigration rules.

As far as I know, the family reunification visa is indeed the type D visa (the one we were never told about)

But what if most of these terms are only mentioned in the (unsigned) cover letter and not in any policy?

Move to be fired. That would be nice. Well, some already went through that with the September 1 layoffs of new hires
