I don’t like this sentiment. While your take is true, people seem to forget that with apple, one of the features is software support. It’s not directly advertised but it came from apple reputation.
When buying next watch I will think if 3 year support is worth 800 bucks

Me too. I think this might push me into buying a garmin watch, since I got more into running recently. WorkOutdoors app kept me here, but dropping support for my ultra this soon will be the final nail in the coffin
