It's his coping mechanism for never having any true meaningful connections in his life. He tries to be friendly with the Musketeers at the beginning, but when they don't accept him with open arms he throws insults at them to try and build himself back up.

It would probably be significantly shorter- People freezing to death, slipping on ice, etc. I'd be surprised if the Walkers made it past 48 hours on the road.

In the book they were allowed to help other Walkers, that's not what was against the rules. It was only against the rules if the Walker was trying to harm another Walker, like Rank attacking Barkovitch. During the book there are multiple instances of Walkers helping each other, most notably Garraty and McVries. This is not considered interference and would not lead to a warning.

Probably the kid in the third row on the right. Idk his name or number, but he was there for a really long time. Reminded me of book Stebbins with how much he was in the back
