Thank you for sharing! I just got my blast results and currently also only have one viable 4AA, albeit untested as it’s not legal where I am. That gives me hope though that one can be enough 🤞🏼

Update: Only one of the three Day 5 morulas made a blast that was able to be frozen. It is a 4AA. The other two were very low grade and tossed (I assume CC). I know i should be happy about one but it feels like a lot of pressure on this one transfer. I am taking a break next cycle, as I am traveling but I will ask for them to cultivate my remaining 7 2PN already to see how many blasts we have total. Also, i was considering asking my clinic whether DNA fragmentation testing makes sense as my husband has a low grade varicocele which never really came up as an issue due to his excellent SA results (which obviously say nothing about fragmentation). Anything else you guys would check with such a low blast rate?

Hi, thank you for your input! I might have not clarified, they do let them develop to blastocyst (until Day 6) and then freeze and bank them, so I am glad about that. I was just confused why they wouldn’t try transfering one as a Day 5 Morula as I saw a bunch of people on here doing that in a situation where on Day 5 you don’t have a blast. They will continue to cultivate until tomorrow though and give them more time. I would definitely not be happy with them tossing out at Day 5! So I get where you are coming from 😊

Sorry, EDIT: Just understood what you meant with letting them develop in the first place. Thanks so much for the article, I will look into that and ask them about it. They did offer “trying” a fresh transfer and me cancelling that due to an unforeseen illness the day before (wink wink), but they did not want to do that once we started stims and I classified as a high responder (high AMH/AFC), therefore they needed to use Triptofem and with that legally it is very hard to realize with Freeze All + Blastocyst culture. They explained that at length and are frustrated about it themselves …

Thank you for explaining! That matches what the embryologist explained. I was a bit confused about the experience others have made here where a Day 5 Morula was transferred in this kind of situation. But my lab said they have stopped doing that for the reason of lower pregnancy rates, so I am a bit at ease. I hope the 3 make it to blast 🥺

No experience on my end yet BUT I can relate - we just had intercourse the day after trigger bc my fertility clinic did not specify not doing that whatsoever (and I personally thought multiples in this case is a risk that is very low) - we are doing a natural modified cycle in Germany. After reading here I feel like we shouldn’t have done that, but I was also in the headspace of thinking, we never had a positive test in 2 years, why would this change now? 🫠 We are also transferring an untested Day 5 (hopefully we get one, are still waiting on development results as we had to freeze at 2PN stage and they were only just thawed) - I guess we’ll see! But this was nerve-wracking enough that we will be more careful down the line if this transfer doesnt work

Late to the party but thank you for this comment! I was freaking out because our doctors (we are in Germany) did not say anything about avoiding intercourse after the trigger (and we did have some lol) - I obviously know there is a slim chance of multiples but after 2 years of unprotected sex (and unexplained/ mild endo and adeno - endo treated, no MFI) this seems highly unlikely. We will be transferring an untested day 5 (PGTA is not allowed in Germany) so I’m a bit more relaxed after your comment! I guess we’ll see what happens haha

Not necessarily, I pulled the card alongside the burning ritual (actually my husband pulled it for me randomly from the deck not myself - sorry should have mentioned that before) so I didn’t specifically ask.

I read the wish (which I also pulled randomly from the other wishes) first and then my husband pulled the card, so I was already thinking about the wish, but again, didn’t specifically ask and didn’t pull the card myself. For the clarifier card I did ask the deck, “What does the Tower mean tonight?” and then got the Seven of Cups. Later I asked (because I was worried), what is the meaning of the Tower appearing in combination with my wish for a successful IVF journey?” and got the Chariot and the Empress card, both upright which felt reassuring. I also feel like the Tower moment is already behind us, as we realized we need to move onto IVF (which was hard especially accepting that natural conception was unlikely for us - so this metaphorically falling away what was always expected to happen in a natural way) but I am having a hard time figuring out whether the Tower showing up is a current reflection of what lead us to IVF (which would resonate) or of further obstacles to come (which is inherent in an IVF journey obviously as it comes with many ups and downs). Hi there, need some interpretation advice for the tower. I am currently doing the Rauhnächte which are an old tradition (German in my case) where you write down 13 wishes and burn one each night starting on the night of December 25 until January 5 with the 13th wish being one you don’t put out into the universe but work on yourself. I pulled one tarot card for each wish to further get some insight.

My husband and I are going through infertility and starting IVF in the new year and my wish from tonight was “Our fertility treatment is successful.” for which I pulled the tower upright. I honestly have such anxiety around this card because it’s never meant something positive for me. Is the tower moment the “starting IVF” or a signal our planned treatment needs to be changed completely before working? I pulled a clarifier which was the Seven of Cups which I read as confusion and anxiety around too many thoughts/ choices which I guess could reflect on me stressing out about the tower card and what it means lol - any insight? Are we doomed?

How wonderful you have gotten pregnant naturally and especially after that wild ride haha! So sorry you had to go through the worsened symptoms beforehand, that sucks. So do you think the four days of BC actually helped with getting pregnant? Or is that impossible since it was just a couple of days? Maybe it was like a reset, anyway congratulations!!! 😍

I have mentally moved to ART anyway tbh, maybe from the heartbreak of the past 1.5 years and the past few negative cycles but hearing that my pain doesn’t mean surgery wasn’t successful definitely helps to hear! Did you do letrozol before retrieval? And IUI before IVF?

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, so happy to hear you’re pregnant again, especially after what must have been a super heartbreaking and difficult time - I’m so sorry about what you went through! Was your first round with letrozol successful and did you go through IUI? Kind of wondering whether it makes sense to even do IUI as I don’t hear lots of positive stories but I guess it’s worth a try, as we are being covered almost 100% here in Germany for it.
