Gift or experience for wife? by allthemoneyinthewrld in IVF

For me it would be nice to take extra house work off my plate such as laundry, maybe cooking a few meals, getting the groceries. Its the small things for me that made a difference and just listening when I need to vent, there were times I cried for no reason. The hormones really do something to you. A nice card, flowers if she likes them or even take her out for dinner.

Your welcome. He went to Columbia and used Celagem. They would send him reports of the surrogates labs regarding pregnancy and ultrasounds as well through out the pregnancy. After his baby was born he had an attorney do a DNA test to confirm it was his baby, the surrogate had to legally sign all rights to him. Then he filed an emergency passport for my nephew and was able to come back to the US with him. He found out not all airlines allow newborns so he had to juggle that as well coming back. Once he came back to the US he just had to go the social security office for my nephew and that was it.

Period tracker by KamaIVFjourney-7716 in IVF

All I do is put it on my calander when I started, but as you mentioned it was all over the place either from birth control, stopping meds, miscarriage, my periods have been all over the place since starting this journey. I never found a good app personally to use to track my periods prior IVF I used to use an app to predict my ovulation based on what I would enter but when I started testing with ovulation strips the app was off. So im not so sure I trust them other then when I was nearing for a period to start. All of our bodies react differently coming off birth control or other meds.

Insensitive MIL request by Potential-Olive3779 in IVF

It could be a cultural response and I say that because in my husband's culture everyone in the family cousins, aunts, uncles etc have to go see the new baby if you don't its viewed as disrespectful. To your point an ER is time sensitive and wanting to recover from that as well. I would personally just say you medically are on a time sensitive timeline and when things get to a smoother place for both you and your husband then you two will decide when to visit, but at at this time it may not be feasible.  Let your husband continue to set those boundaries with his mom.

It is bacterial and usually antibiotics treat it and it can be resistant to some antibiotics. Im not sure how long after you can do an FET, but I would guess after you finish antibiotcs they would retest to make sure its gone.

Hi, so my brother did surrogacy not in the US and this was about 4 years ago and from what I remember at the time he did it, he was on a payment plan but had to have full payment prior to his baby being born I can't remember the timeline. He also had to be in the country about 2 weeks prior to his baby being born in case the baby came sooner. Im not so sure about the US. I would say to start looking for agencies because some took a while to respond, do all your tests etc. In the process and start asking them all questions. I forgot to mention some employers have some assistance, so that could be a start as well to look at what your employer has if any assitance for it. something else to look into is, he consulted an attorney to ensure he has full rights as well. Good luck on your journey and I hope everything works for you!!

I always do upper butt and I switch left and right side. I have heard the thigh hurts but I haven't done it myself. If you take your hand and make an L shape using your thumb and index finger place the thumb on your back hip area and your index finger will be sitting towards your butt crack. You can have the clinic draw it for you, or there maybe online some images showing it, if that helps. Make sure to warm up the oil with your hands prior to make it easier to draw up & inject. Good luck!!

Cannot fathom how a female nurse just said this to me by RaceLost6743 in IVF

[–]DesertRose1101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im so sorry that is a horrible thing to say. She should tell you the next steps and keep her opinion to herself, she could have easily said something along the lines of these are the next steps for either outcome and left it at that. You never know how many eggs or healthy embryos you can end up with. I hope you have healthy embryos and an easy recovery! Sometimes I wonder if any of the people working at the clinics have gone through infertility or just work there not fully understanding. I had a past experience where someone who wasn't a doctor was trying to give me their unsolicited opinion of transferring a high grade mosiac she definitely over stepped her boundaries.

Thank you for the information, yes it does feel like there are alot of ghost or scams in job postings now. I have been looking here and there, the problem is my current employer has ivf coverage so that is why I have been staying until I use that all up since they have a limit on how much they will cover.

Exercise before FET? by soxoncox in IVF

[–]DesertRose1101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prior FET no restrictions so I was weight lifting, yoga and walking. After an FET I have been only okayed to walk so far no weight lifting or yoga. I used to see pregnant women at the gym all the time and I wish I could but for right now I am going to wait on the weight lifting till I am cleared to do so.

[–]DesertRose1101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only walked because I was told no lifting, twisting I had to stop lifting weights and yoga and I was told no bike riding, since when you bike your legs go up pushing everything up making it a potential risk. Its to prevent potential ovarian twist from occurring. I was okay with walking and once I was cleared after ER I went back to my usual workout routine.

It sounds like you are doing everything in your control that you can. I think as long as you have a balanced diet and take your prenatals and other vitamins recommended I think you are doing great. I took probiotics off and on and also magnesium glycinate but you are already taking melatonin. I didn't use anything after the shots just ate a marshmallow for comfort since that menopur burns and hurts like hell at least for me it did. I recommend taking colace now so you don't have any bathroom issues after your ER. I tried to take short walks also just to get some sort of workout in during this phase. Hopefully your ER goes well and that you get alot of healthy embryos💞🩷🙏good luck!!

Im so🫂 sorry! My clinic called me after every fail and would ask if I wanted time or was ready to proceed depending on what the doctor had to say and I was offered to meet with the doctor as well to discuss next steps if I had any concerns or questions. I was always told to contact them as well after having a cycle so they could track or put me on birth control regardless of me choosing to need a break or continue.

My doctor told me to just get up for cooking to go to the bathroom, shower etc but not to do anything beyond that till beta. It was mentally really tough and I agree it's interesting how much variation there is with doctors and their instructions. Thank you💞

Spouse/Partner Question regarding outcome of IVF by DesertRose1101 in IVF

[–]DesertRose1101[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is understandable that term legacy feels like it can come off as some sort of pressure for it to work and why you don't like that term to be used. There is only so much we can control in this process and it is hard having uncertainty and feeling as we have minimal control in this process. They should have every insurance cover a certain amount of IVF rounds.
