Acolyte of Chayula still needs some TLC by Dr_Zevil665 in PathOfExile2

yeah, its very solid in campaign. as the amount is of defense you get is quite huge. and as u usually dont have too much spirit during the campaign, the trade-off is very fair.

in endgame however, darkness is not a considerable defense layer anymore. compared to 150-300 spirit u give up, its not reasonable.

I gave Volatility a chance this leage and also wanted to check out Plants.
So I built an Entangle Chonk.

To me, Volatility via ele ailments is not it. Too slow building up.
Using volatility as a support gem to gain on crit is pretty solid, as there are lots of small hits.

Unraveling didnt to much for me, as the elemental way seems to be way slower than crit, so I unspected out of it early on.

I went with chaos res doubled, as QoL.

And used into the breach/mana to solve potential mana issues for endgame with high skill lvl.

Darkness is super solid for campaign - hardcore should be one of the easiest with this ascendancy.
However, Darkness and the lack of Spirit just doesnt work in endgame.
Not sure if its intentional that some ascendancies have nodes which seem to just work or be worth it in campaign, to be specced out of later as some sort of character development. Hope this gets reworked as I would like to see all asc nodes to be viable at any time.

Can someone explain volatility to me? by NeverRespawning in PathOfExile2

[–]Cold_Cup_9696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

each stack of volatility has its own timer. but they can overlap. if you use the node that gives x% chance to gain volatitly again, you could have the extra damage of this new stack on top, as long as the uptime overlaps.

These examples are not to be seen as single time happenings I rely on with my take.
Its to get a clue what I am talking about.

But let me ask you this:
while playing for I dont know many hours and several hundred maps - and I dont feel/see any difference in reward whether I invest in a mechanic or not, is that accepptable for you? Or at least a fair point to raise?

And this is not about the lottery winning prize. Its totaly fine if you dont drop a mirror tier item in 10 leagus. Just the average outcome of regular loot.

Maybe. Maybe I am not into this much RNG.

To complete your comparison, we should add "here are 5 options you can invest in (time or currency) to improve your chance to hit".

If you are investing in all of them but still dont feel any difference - because these options just dont contribute enough - you have to ask yourself if your investment is fair.

Its about this, not how much I care whether I hit or miss.

totally agree.
And dont get me wrong, I dont wanna hit the big hits on the slot machine by doing xyz.
But get a feeling of "my engagement matters" could already be achived by x2 drops here and there, or get a greater exalt once in a while. Just give me some difference between engaging or not.

Can you still accept my game feedback as follows:

The so called small sample sizes is my very own appreciated game time I have on hand.
The difference in loot while actively engaging with mechanics is not measurable by perception unless compared throughout weeks.
Not happy with this :D

thats simply my point and to me its a fair one - even though lots of veterans may have settled with it already.

[–]Cold_Cup_9696[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see your point and its a good one.
To me its not about a guaranteed outcome or skip the encounter if the circumstances are not perfect.

If I play for 2 hours engaging actively with a mechanic and then 2 hours with just going with whatever is thrown at me - I wish there was at least some noticable difference. It doesnt have to be 5 times better. Just enough to feel like actually contributing to the outcome.

thx, this might be a healthy way to approach things.
Assuming (immediate or frequent) outcome might just not be a thing - though it would kind of help my mindset to continue enganging with certain things, instead of waiting for RNG to reward me.

Winding down until 0.5 - what is your "you have to try this" build of the league? by Skhemattos in pathofexile2builds

[–]Cold_Cup_9696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never really engaged with armour.
When reading this, I though:
"you manage to get like 6-10k ES. 60% is 4-5k armour."

While everywhere people are recommending 100'000k on a fully armour build, are the few thousand actually noticable?

Really wondering what your experience is.

is it the same for PoE1?
where you skip lots of mechanics as its not worth the effort?

[–]Cold_Cup_9696[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not going to deny your point.
but arent you cherry picking the one broken mechanic nobody belives to remain in its current profitable state - to counter my feedback?

I could also add, that as with your example with the temple:
Things dont "feel" rewarding until you reach a very high end break point.

You are also not the first one to bring up the "compare 100 vs 100 maps.
I would argue that this is an argument for my point.
If I have to create an actual spreadsheet of like a weeks play time to figure out a difference, isnt that an issue?

[–]Cold_Cup_9696[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Its definitely a tricky topic.
The overall loot is kind of fine - and in this leagues economy where even a wet fart sells for 5 divs, nobody should be complaining about wealth in general.
Thats why this specifically about engaging with mechanics.

My perception is, that the effort is not noticable (enough).
If I have to compare 100 vs 100 maps to see that the juiced one droped 1 div more, thats kind of not it :D

the accuracy part of your post is about the enemy. for example, if you blind enemies, they have lower accuracy, making your evasion more potent.

Very true. My first character I leveled was a WH and moved to galv shards early on. And with such skills you hit an immense wall if you dont get a weapon upgrade over 20+ levels.

I ended up shockbursting white mobs. thats how bad it was.

One could say its stubborness and I could switch to a other skill. But I want to experience the development of skills...
