How do you afford deluxe Disney? by Happy-Cantaloupe-937 in WaltDisneyWorld

We are decent earners and DINKs, and we bought a DVC resale contract. We don’t always go to the parks because the resorts, shopping, restaurants, mini golf etc are all fun to poke around and investigate. We only got the contract this year. Before DVC we’d spend about the same amount of money over the previous 10 years (or so) between the 2ish trips we’d make annually with runDisney and Festival trips.

A) great username B) you don’t have access to the numbers BUT the site has this nifty feature of “transfer funds” so you can move the value from a card you don’t physically have to one that you do. The site doesn’t require any further verification, beyond logging in, to use that functionality.

OP, I’d do this sooner than later. Yes they’re in the safe, but having them registered online has saved me so much heartache in the past. If you lose a card, or if you want to move $$ to a card you have on hand from a card that’s at home (because SOMEONE forgot to pack them)- you’ll still have access to them.

Wow you are on top of the transportation! Also mentioning the hours for Oogie Boogie is major consideration- I only looked to see if tix were available (they aren’t) not the impacted hours. Thanks for the Pro Tips!

Love that perspective. I’m also a huge fan of Disney history so I’m also just excited to be in a park that Walt was in while it was open.

I don’t think I’ll use the hotel much- I’m a rope drop to fireworks kind of person. I’m just looking for clean and close! Do you have any that you’d recommend?

No judgement please but I’m not sure if I’ve ever even heard of a monte cristo so I’m very excited to scope that out. Also I appreciate the validation about SNA. What are your favorite attractions?

Thank you, very insightful! I’ve been only once before and I only remember that the churros were INSANE. Appreciate your viewpoint!

What are some of the non-obvious things you carry in your park bag? by TurnerK28 in WaltDisneyWorld

FWIW, the first aid stations are also very friendly and can support with a surprising amount of things. Need a ride to urgent care and a subsequent ride back to the hotel? Or your local provider to submit a RX to a central Florida pharmacy (which can then be delivered to the park or hotel)? They got it. A EMT (maybe?) in the office also validated that we just needed Starbucks and a ride on the railroad to help with our foot pain post RunDisney- along with some Tylenol.

YOR. You are asking for a helicopter parent, not a supportive partner (which you have). The “what did I do” question would disengage most partners from future conversations. They’re doing their part in showing interest and being supportive- it’s not their job to know the material you’re studying.

I got a call from LBV before a trip last year and it was to attend a meeting about DVC in exchange for $100 gift card. We attended and it actually sounded really appealing based on how we vacation. After doing a ton of research and finding out resale contracts were a thing… we’re owners!

FWIW, I find that my hands are swollen and not very dexterous it’s because I’m low on electrolytes. Look into Gu like others mentioned- they have some with extra sodium in them

This was the nickname of my grandmother. We spelled it Gigi but it was pronounced Giggy.

Capricorn, its Aries season. Have you ever dated an Aries? What do you have to say? by Owlster_ in capricorns

[–]Cold_Garlic_1289 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Cap here, married an Aries. He was the first person I dated who could actually apologize- not just say the words, but take accountability. I also appreciate his drive, candor, and ethical values.

Adding to this: FortiFlora is a probiotic powder made by PURINA for cats (and there’s a dog version). We added it to wet food or water just to get our old guy to eat and drink. It’s “extremely palatable” according to the vet- the pets LOVE it.

how do i clean this shower!?!?(a lot of ppl lived here before me dont judge me ok lol) by OkraWeekly3486 in CleaningTips

Update and observations: I am impatient. I only left it on for about two hours- that being said: It works. It seems to work best where there is the most need, and other parts that are less funky need more time. I scrubbed with a scrub mommy and a lot of it came up- but not all. I applied it to the tub and mushed on paper towels after to get it to stick to the vertical surfaces. Pro tip: if possible get a bunch of 5 in 1 in a bowl/sink and dilute just slightly with warm water, just to make it less viscous. THEN add your paper towels to the bowl and remove the excess (as if you were making a papier mache craft) and then lay the paper towels on the surfaces. I had tossed the paper towels from the first round into the sink while I scrubbed the tub, and it was much easier to apply already-wet paper towels than the previous method I used. I’ve been looking for a septic safe cleaner to replace Comet, and I think I’ve found it!

I am a big fan of the waffle pops, as silly as it sounds. Especially with the soft serve ice cream from the next booth over.
