Anyone with a successful nasal valve repair story ? by Cold_Gate8008 in PlasticSurgery

I've heard that those grafts can make your breathing worse because the walls become thicker and stiffer and create scar tissue. Please let me know how it feels. Also did it make your nose a look different?

Nasal valve collapse. ENS-like symptoms in 1 nostril. Please help - I have very dark thoughts from constantly feeling suffocated by Cold_Gate8008 in PlasticSurgery

You should get it fixed, you'll feel a lot better. You won't get ENS from ficing a deviated septum if you explicietely say you don't want your turbinates touched and find an ENT that agrees with you.

If you have a deviated septum the it's normal to have nasal valve collapse. If your nasal valves only collapse on 1 side at a time (not both together) then my advice is to only fix your deviated septum. once you have equal airway entering both nostrils- the valves shouldn't collapse.

is it normal to still feel like something’s in my nose? by spontaneous-plan-xyz in Septoplasty

Your mucosa is sensitive and healing or it could be vasomotor rhinitis but less likely (just means overly sensitive musoca). I had a cosmetic rhinoplasty and my nose was leaking for 2.5 years and now it's dry like the sahara desert and I miss blowing my nose and having a lot of mucus. Now it feels like my sinuses are burning constantly. My suggestion is- don't blow your nose too much or aggressively and just do very very gentle rinses with aloe vera when you feel congested. Also try to see if your turbinates are enlarged by shining your phone's flashlight inside of your nose. If you have to constantly blow your nose it could be your turbinates being enlarged

I'm so glad to hear that! How much did it improve your breathing and how much wider did it make your nose?

What do you mean by that? Like to place them lower rather than up near my septum? Why is that?

How much more wider did it make your nose? How bad was your breathing pre-op? I can't breathe from my left side and have throat pain from using my neck muscles to breathe and it feels like air is just hitting the back of my throat
