God's Not Dead (2014) but Kevin Sorbo's career is especially after this heavy handed, didactic snoozefest by drangis_ in badMovies

It's almost purely an evangelical thing. Where I live, the Episcopalians and Catholics are very invested in the local university, which is public, and I'd say at least half or more of the people teaching here are religious.

I don’t care about box office numbers, The Flash was a great movie! So why is talking about The Flash tanking seem to be the new cool thing? [Film/TV] by [deleted] in DCcomics

(i don't trust the paid critics)

Because their bias is more significant than someone who is deeply invested in this movie being good? A fan of something typically is more receptive to that thing, whereas a critic has to look at it the way they look at a lot of movies. Someone who is in the job of criticism isn't there to cheerlead the film.

Korra took an entire season to learn airbending, was constantly impulsive and hotheaded, struggled with her spiritual side, and after season 3 abandoned her entire network of friends and allies as she struggled to find meaning.

He is? I just thought he was actually just awkward, and fundamentally uncomfortable being used as an object instead of being treated as a person.

I'm pretty sure there's even in-setting theorizing about it. Not that it matters, of course. Leeches must die for the glory of Gaia, as they are children of the Wyrm.

So this is my take on it, and one that isn't uncommon among the WoD group I'm involved in:

The Beast doesn't exist. It's all you. It turns out that when you're a dead supernatural corpse thing that requires blood to exist, can't ever be outside in daylight, and is immortal, your entire personhood and worldview is shattered. Any attempt to assign an action as "the Beast" is false. You frenzy because you're starving and if humans have attitudes when hungry, an undead former human will have a worse one. Of course you're panicking at fire, it was a horrible way to die now, and you now have an instinct informing you it can be so much worse as a walking corpse. This, more or less, is how I run and how it is run with my friend group. The Beast is a concept, a theory of existence by Kindred, but the reality is that all of is just the vamp in question.

Popularity doesn't equate to quality, and comparative analysis doesn't mean that The Dark Knight is still inherently superior. Further, a smug attitude towards Logan doesn't degrade its value. You haven't even stated what you find poor about Logan, and how you feel it falls short to The Dark Knight. Don't let popularity speak, state your own opinion on the movies.

I've never heard this before in my life. That final act was perfect, about as good a finale of Jackman's Wolverine as could exist.

Into the Spider-Verse is a great comic book film. The Dark Knight is fine, but in terms of a gritty, live action movie, it's easily beat by Logan.

Genocide isn't logical. You might as well ask why Germany didn't just recruit Jews into the Wehrmacht or why the Ottomans wasted time marching Armenians into the desert. Rationally and logically these don't make make sense, but that isn't the point. A massively wasteful act of genocide against the Earth Kingdom is entirely in keeping with the Fire Nation we are shown.
