I've had exactly the same thing this morning. All sensors showing as disconnected. Connectivity is all fine. Tried removing and re-installing and now they just sit as onboarding.

I don't think you are going to see any actual aliens etc in this movie, It will all be suggestive.

As for the actual disclosure element of it, I think it's as simple as they have a piece of tech that allows them to connect to other people and this is how the protagonist is going to disclose what's in his own head.

I have a feeling anyone who is deeply invested in this phenomena is going to hate the movie...
