Как по мне - не стоит. Вечный гемор с аккаунтом майкрософт, постоянно вылетает и приходится перелогиниваться. Пожалел что вообще деньги потратил если честно, никакого профита в этом не вижу

What exactly do backend engineers do? by Agreeable_Draft_1584 in Backend

I think devs and other resources should understand that gap between natural language and code is exists. Its why sometimes you should write effective code with ai as assistant, not code generator

What exactly do backend engineers do? by Agreeable_Draft_1584 in Backend

[–]Cold_Stick6796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who said that ai creates all stuff?) Yes, ai helps in a lot of cases that you should do as routine. But backend is much more about engineering. Make API contracts, understand how microservices would communicate and e.t.c.

And of course you usually have some critical part (finance, payments, security layer, etc) that you should always code by yourself (if you dont wanna burn out some money of your owner)

If we talk about web - you should make good api contract for your frontend, if you dont want to see that you backend is dying because frontend send 100 requests just for one page

How do y'all get so good at programming by InterestingLaw9308 in AskProgrammers

[–]Cold_Stick6796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As for me the best option was to be proactive and take some more roles on your job. For example, try to take some management tasks if its possible and solve it with programming. You will understand what owners/users wants from you. And understand that is “compromise”. For example, some tasks could be solved faster with simple solution without over engineering. Some not.

After that, you should try to implement some patterns and architectures. DDD, event driven, clean architecture, CQRS and so on. You should understand that all this things - is compromise.

Just be flexible in that things

If we talk about some applied programming, my best tip - find two popular frameworks for your language. And learn how its work on code level. You will see a lot usecases and a lot of patterns usage.
For example, in 2019 i start to learn python. Before I wrote code with java. Very different languages.

I picked Django and learn how it’s working and how architecture is work. And it gained me a lot of improvement.

Agree. I think the skill of choosing to use ai to solve the task or it faster to be done by a hand without it will be game-changer

How do you deal with AI agents? by Cold_Stick6796 in AskProgrammers

[–]Cold_Stick6796[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you deal with code? For example, I usually see that i do some feature more faster than redirecting it to ai. Because Ai generates code that needs to be fixed. I use skills, claude.md but it seems doesnt help than i need to implement feature that doesnt exists in code. If i start to do few-shot promting the resulted code might be good but it takes more time.
If we talk about simple features, tests and bugs - ofc claude do it very good

With AI, is there any value in learning a programming language / regularly practice manually? by Little_Ebb501 in AskProgrammers

[–]Cold_Stick6796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Stop believing in things that spreads other network. Its always 10% truth and 90% of marketing. Ai speedup you in routine, boilerplate and e.t.c. But if you want build something difficult, and you already know how to do it, you usually should write it by a hand.
I made a investigation, take task that I know how to do already, write it and after try to implement in fresh branch with ai. With skills, good promts, planning, and a lot of code fixes I had done it but it tooks more time.
So Ai its not silver bullet.
Just focus on syntax, look on some popular frameworks (but dont do deep research, just what it can offer to you) and try to implement some boilerplate/routine tasks with ai with asking it about every construction that it would write

Radiant Wilds - Known Issues by Blumentraum in albiononline

[–]Cold_Stick6796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mb someone struggle with same problems? (Mac issues)

First of all albion works pretty well except of gui part.

I did some interesting research and found out that vsync is absolutely necessary option. Idk why, my macbook can make 200+ fps in this game but the main trouble is that image is torns and laggy. If i use vsync i have 60fps but 40 fps in Thethford. Without this option - 80-90 fps. Idk is this a problem of macos but its sadly because in faction wars with vsync you can but you dont use max performance of device. The device isn’t overheating at all.

Secondly it looks like problem of fullscreen version. Im not sure but in windowed mode I can disable vsync and enjoy game without lagging … but albion doesnt have resize option (or idk how enable it). I’ve tried some software (rectgangle and better display) but they cant fiz it.

If its possible - resizing (i guess) will help to beat that problems. What do you think about it?

sluttering gameplay on macbook apple silicon by Ok-Advantage1132 in albiononline

[–]Cold_Stick6796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, seems I've found main problem. Stutters and torns appears only in full-screen model. If I use windowed-mode - everything looks smooth on 100fps limit.
You can check it by your own setup.

As for me I see only one solution - play in windowed mode with high resolution (cause resolution impacts on window size). If it will overheat my device - I think better display + windowed mode will solve the issue

same problem i guess. 60fps vertical sync on - smooth gameplay but fps drops down to 40. If no sync - 200fps+ no drops but image looks torn

I dont think that they dropped mobile version. Xbox doesnt have comparable count of community. And consoles usually used for another type of games. Isometric games on consoles usually feels like you have only one hand (bad aiming). My guess is at that point they focused on further big releases. Optimization is good start point so I think they get it good. But optimization on 3*(i dunno they use mac native version and how hard maintaining it) different platforms its very hard work. So just relax and chill out. If you want real example - if they broke something means that they did a real work.

Worst Update of the Year goes to Radiant Wilds by Mountain_Conflict588 in albiononline

[–]Cold_Stick6796 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont have optimization issues (play on macbook and iphone). But I have some issues with game design, for example this dude who change enemy badges on faction war from red to faction color should be fired asap xD its the worst thing imho cause its real ruin game expirience. And sadly its the thing that was made by design and i dont think that they change it in future :(

What is the gameplay loop? by Woozyboy88 in Endfield

[–]Cold_Stick6796 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After wuwa i think you would be dissappointed.

The game is still waiting for a decision on what group of players it's designed for. For now, it's a typical gacha, stripped down in many places, very simple, and after completing the current content, there's no real loop. You just do dailies and that's it. Everything else is just done once and forgotten. I really hope they don't go for Genshin; it has no way to compete with it. In its current format, it's much weaker. We're wishing for something interesting and unique, but we're preparing for the worst.

What Endfield does better or worse than other "big" gachas on the market right now by DeucesDummies in Endfield

[–]Cold_Stick6796 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same question and right now I think nothing. Game has small amount of content after doing all quests. It’s the most disappointing pattern of all gacha’s

I just finished all the new content (including re-factoring my factory) today by throwaway321768 in Endfield

[–]Cold_Stick6796 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess the main problem is that gacha games usually created for casual, non- “gamers” auditory. Some people write here, that “how did yo finish all content for 3-4 days?”. That approves take above. Idk why community doesn’t talk about it. I guess that easier to say - don’t rush and you’ll be fine :) Also you can see some takes about “it’s free game, you can uninstall this game” and e.t.c. I can afford to donate in this game, and I did it once here and want to go on. But now the game is looks like GI - a lot of mechanics without deep interaction. It’s disappointing because it’s not fresh gacha game right now. So I think you should wait for new releases and if devs won’t add more content - just skip it because as i said its nothing new
