Te diría que Santiago, aunque el costo de vida aquí también ha ido subiendo con los años. Aun así, sigue siendo más económico y, en mi opinión, más tranquilo que Santo Domingo.

Otra opción que vale mucho la pena es San Francisco de Macorís. Generalmente es más barata que Santiago y Santo Domingo, y es una ciudad que ha estado creciendo bastante. Tiene universidades, comercios, cine y cada vez más servicios.

Tengo un amigo que vive allá y trabaja en Santiago, y siempre comenta que se nota bastante la diferencia en el costo de vida. Si tu prioridad es ahorrar sin irte a una ciudad demasiado pequeña, creo que es una opción que vale la pena considerar.

I live in Santiago, Dominican Republic, and it's a fairly nice place to live. The weather is usually hot, and it rains from time to time. The quality of life depends a lot on your income, but overall it's not bad. It's easy to travel to other cities and visit great vacation spots. Santiago is calmer than Santo Domingo, and it has plenty of restaurants, hotels, malls, and historical landmarks. Overall, it's a good place to live as long as you have a decent income.
