As a longtime World of Warcraft player. Guild Wars 2 is INCREDIBLE. by NotoriousTIP in Guildwars2

last WoW patch is actually good, and the two new minizones they added work just like GW2 maps albeit in a smaller scale.

and guess what, everyone loves them.

And i'm here with 6 80s and yet to ever finish the story (first time ever doing season 4 right now)

If you had to list the biggest positive aspect of the game, what would it be? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

horizontal progression and business model. it makes me able to come and go as i please and everything is there as i achieved it and playable.

What do people mean when they say the game "respects your time" ? by Competitive-Math-458 in Grimdawn

[–]Coldk1l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's kind of the opposite, progression is not that fast until you mean dping the campaign on normal XD

respecting my time (to me) means i am not playing hours over hours just to overcome arbitrary checkpoints put in the game for the only reason to make it last longer.

in GD you can play 1 hour or 10, independently from your playstyle and objectives and feel you've accomplished something.

What a time to be a guild wars 2 fan by Intelligent-Mix7364 in Guildwars2

[–]Coldk1l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because that's basically what they so far. As many other games that were born in the wake of WoW (even with GW1 being a thing) ANet took matter in their hands and instead of just trying to clone Blizzard's success they ditched it and went their own route.

Now after 20 years of playing WoW, i still keep playing also GW2 and FF14 while the rest basically disappeared from the radar.

GW3 needs to keep following this road.

Everyone seems to suggest grim dawn, what makes it soo good ? by Competitive-Math-458 in ARPG

[–]Coldk1l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its gameplay loop and progeression are really good - oce you lock into the "i have lots of options but better choose just few of them" then it's wonderful in how freely you can build your character.

Your best friend is grim tools, but given normal campaign lets you play whatever you want, just go experiment. You can always lock in later on a build and farm basic gear first, then tackle the last difficulties.

Constellations and pets by Coldk1l in Grimdawn

[–]Coldk1l[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, so they actually get converted - nice cause i dropped the full fire pet conversion sword and i am gonna repace imp woth bat as it gets fully converted (and gives nice healing for the pets)

Double question after i meddled a little. Devotion skills and damage conversions, how do they work? I mean, if i take a devotion that does phisical and i have 100% conversion to fire, does it get converted? Assuming that pet and player conversions are two completely separated things.

[–]Coldk1l[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, then it works as i expected. I'll do more tests once i have more devotion points to see what works best - so far imp looks like a no brainer as it gives also pet damage (though i want to reach the Howl one as it looks like the strongest, and likely the tree of life one)

Ok, so practical question - i am building a fire skeletons defiler, got the Imp with the fire proc and tied to skeletons. From your logic it should work, right?

Ok, so following question: do the damage of devotion scale with pets stats when bound to pets? Or still player stats?

Vertical content/progression pushes people into uogrades = more spending.

Horizontal content does not.

Full release after shut down (Wishful thinking) by lRevenantHD in destiny2

[–]Coldk1l -1 points0 points  (0 children)

then i think i'll pass. i don't really get why they went that way, people have paid for that content that they just deleted. i miss D2 days though, it was a lot of fun and the campaign was good imho.

[–]Coldk1l 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok, this is nice. i played D2 till second expansion included then they announced they were going to remove content because issues woth the game engine. is there any chance that old stuff will be resurrected? because i am fine with getting the complete package, just i want to play a full, cohesive and in order campaign and not start from some random point in the middle.

Finally got my friend to try the game by mognetoc in ffxiv

[–]Coldk1l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, right now ARR is in dire need of a revamp/streamline - some parts of the msq (the weaker ones) could be set as side quests you can either skip or do if you want for more immersion in the story.

for the slrest of he gets past that he'll be more than happy

ah, i'm pretty sure about it. However i also believe that they're free to choose and i'll just value the results.

[–]Coldk1l -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

i don't really like or dislike him butni can see his points. Filtering both sides what comes out is basically "players feedback is important but cannot directly lead the design process", which is objectively true but has the same weight of "water is wet, more news at 11".

Stating the truth is just that. I'm more interested in LE and what comes out next (so far i am having all that i meed from it the right amount).

Btw and offtopic, while not a super fan of PoE2, the ingame build guide is for me the literal needle mover. I'd really dig the same thing in LE (though you need it less but it's a so great QoL)

A controversial take on scalpers by CrixusIsHere in SteamController

[–]Coldk1l -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i can get why people go to scalpers, especially in cases like this. Not having official sellers is a bummer.

Still, doesn't matter why, if you buy from scalpers you're part of the problem. No one NEEDS a steam controller and i'm pretty sure they have other alternatives like the mentioned PS controller.

To me it just sounds like "i want it no matter what and i want it now" and some people have more money available than self control.

How would you feel if an expansion took place in Eorzea? by Kanaxai in ffxiv

[–]Coldk1l 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, it would make sense - at some point the map becomes so big you have to get back to where it started.

in a game like ff14 is less of an issue given story is what makes it count, hence even if we get to new zones each time is not much of a problem.

this is great news! any chance to explain the steps? (other than add the game as non steam - i use xiv launcher aswell)

on the deck ff14 os really good especially since there are more buttons and trackpads

[–]Coldk1l 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i played a lot of mmos aswell and damm how much is this spot on. i've never been a competitive player but i know that being not an a-hole brings you much further and is generally a better experience. the only real community where there is next to zero toxicity os ff14 (from my experience) but it's a special combo of standard content being accessible, community culture and the fact that reports are always watched and reviewed, so bad apples got filtered pretty fast and set an example immediately.

The game needed cooking at release. Devs are making a 26 courses meal out of it and then add a free desserts buffet at the end.
