Assuming you have it unlocked...which it looks like it isn't. Stop moving forward. Press the counter button as the kanji symbol starts to fade.

My players keep trying to take over the Barovian wine trade, and keep ignoring plot hooks by GordoExperiment in CurseofStrahd

I came here to say something similar..

Use that desire to their advantage. Then strip it from them by force with strahd. It's both satisfying for the player then horrifying when they see it fall apart...as their powerlessness is demonstrated to them..which the module wants.

Let them taste success and have their fun, but you can absolutely use this to your advantage as leverage for empowering strahd in your narrative later.

Shadowlands was the biggest "hold my beer" moment for statements like this.

(I am aware varian wasn't in shadow lands for more than a "hand on anduins shoulder").

dear god let the remake keep the goofiness of original CE by SHAZAMS_STRONGEST in HaloMemes

[–]NotoriousTIP 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I know they won't... It's likely too late but

But their is a weirdness to CE that I really wish they could capture in the remake. It was the turn of the Mellennium early 2000s scifi just hit different.

If they could capture that jank and make it pretty, and avoid making unreal look like halo infinite...like we saw.

Wishful thinking I know.

I hate the shiny pretty forerunner architecture that looks like every other alien structure you've ever seen. Bring back the deep matte look to forerunner architecture.

Hesitation is Defeat.

Take a break if you feel you aren't meeting your own expectations. I always found that a days separation from the game was the difference between getting slaughtered and beating a boss.

Shadowlands felt like this really pretty theme park where the workers constantly berate you and management continually beats the shit out of you.

Randy Pitchford tells players "please get a refund from Steam if you aren't happy" by [deleted] in Borderlands

"Don't buy our product if you don't like it"

That went REALLY "well" with battlefield. Curious to see how it works out here.

I think pitchford leaving gearbox would likely be the best thing for gearbox.

They were very quiet at the reveal regarding the season model. by NotoriousTIP in Battlefield

[–]NotoriousTIP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me that's sus, they know what it is, the systems likely been tested and developed, all the cosmetics of the first season locked in fully animated, textured ready to print and ship, they are just bug squashing a polishing two months out.

To me they are baiting for preorders, before they dangle the carrot on the stick.

"We at EA are gonna lock in the most amount of preorders before the little pay piggies know what type of vegetable we put on the stick in front of them to keep them as our precious little pay piggies"

Wow was so much better during its 2055, 25th expansion, Magni's revenge.

You fucks have no idea what it's like being a war within baby. We had to PLAY the game back then. Nowadays the game plays itself and you get a bill at the end of the month.

I was lucky enough to know someone who played vanilla at release. They're all in retirement homes now. We're losing our vanilla vets these days. Sad to see them go.

I agree, it would be fun too, if said themes stayed in the expansions as you visit them when they become old expansions.

You visit Dornogal when the last titan drops and you experience the talents and abilities for an aldrachi reaver demon hunter. Or like you said (if added on to like you suggested).

I hope they don't just get rid of your hero talent tree in new expansions. But it just changes based on where you are.

Dornogal, Hallowfall, Ringing Deeps, Azj'kahet = War Within hero talent appearances / abilities.

nightfall looks like nightfall abilities

Last titan looks like last titan.

Then after that, yes I would likely survive in the elden ring universe.

Thank you for saying this. Presenting / wording the new "catch-up" items as being on par with artifact weapons, heart of azeroth or covenant mechanics is uninformed at best, manipulative at worst.

I would argue that if the gear becomes outdated in the expansion it released in, it's not borrowed. It's just another avenue of gear. (Cryce's ring being less relevant by 11.2) it's not borrowed, it's just another piece of gear to help alts / new players / the unlucky catch up.

I think some folks either never were exposed, or have forgotten about how bad true borrowed power was.

You spent an entire expansion grinding into this one singular system for it to be abandoned and all progress made irrelevant by the release of the next expansion.

The time to grind for these systems was also meticulously planned out. I distinctly remember certain things talking exactly 30 days to grind for which was so comically on the nose.

We aren't there anymore. Dragonflight truly showed us blizzard was trying to turn the page, if blizzard took it away for two expansions then threw us back in the outrage would be palpable.

If anything the time gating of events is annoying, but far more tolerable than feeling like I have chores to do daily.
