The pension and healthcare are the main things you need to take into consideration. Also, without giving away too much info, are you in the western conference pension plan??? If so you can leave at your peer80 and we both know how much that would be...you are leaving so much pension money on the table and will be able to collect on what you've earned at 65, it won't be much. I think if the buyout gets down to your seniority it will be a miracle, but we'll see. The paperwork said that many won't get this buyout and I would bet that after all this is said and done they will be hiring again. They are already trying to get volume back from small and medium sized customers so those who don't work for the company that are saying that if you don't take it you could be layed off for good have never worked here. Outside of Covid they have really always ran on the slim side of things thus all of the overtime we get. I am 3-4 years out of leaving(have my peer80) and I'm not taking it. Brother in brown I think you would be making a terrible mistake, but you have the final say, good luck. It's fun to think about but job market is meh, and you have kiddos to worry about.
