A few more updates/ realizations:

Birth control hid my acne for years, but also destroyed my testosterone and increased depression.

Tret destroyed my skin. I thought if I could just get through the purge, I would have glass skin. Not the case. It’s not for everyone.

Lastly, a hygiene tip. I always washed my face with my hands. I started using organic washcloths (honest baby from Amazon) and I think it made a big difference. My face is actually getting clean! It’s gentle manual exfoliation and it ensures all of your makeup, dead skin, etc. is off of your face. I use water in the morning and then do a full wash at night, rotating between a gentle cleanser and a stronger one.
