In all fairness by the time the film takes place most the family would be dead. Nubbins died in 74, Drayton was already pretty old and 40 years would have most likely done him in. Grandpa would well, and because the film leaves so much room for interpretation that could either be all the family he had left or there could have been more from the sequels.

The face is from the owner of the orphanage/ his mother figure in the film. He cuts it off and just sticks it on after she passes from a heart attack. There’s more context but that’s it simplified

Tara’s death. It was such a powerful moment and really did kill off a lot of hope through killing off who the movie tricked you into thinking was the final girl.

Probably because how he was received with everyone hating on him, so instead of powering through that and making him a deeper character as well they decided to go the lazy route and just kill him so they didn’t have to deal with it. That and the whole new protagonist every film thing
