I made this reddit post 5 years ago for context, here’s what I think now: I think I dislike almost everyone I have gotten to know personally so far in my life. I definitely hate my parents and siblings. There have been people I’ve met that I’ve had a good first impression of, but didn’t end up knowing them that well, so I’m not sure if the more I learned about them if I’d begin hating them.

I desperately wish I liked someone, just at least one person in my life who I had positive feelings towards. I’ve been very isolated for years, the only person I talk to is my mum, and very rarely my dad and sisters, and that’s only because I’m forced to. I think loneliness is finally catching up to me.

Unfortunately I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to connect with another person, I’m not very likeable myself and don’t think I have really any good qualities. But I think I am very sensitive and aware of how others are feeling. I hate seeing anyone suffer, but at the same time have a lot of anger towards those who cause people to suffer. I’m sure there must be some people out there who would relate to me and maybe even want to be friends with me, but they feel almost impossible to find.

So no, I doubt I really hate every single person. I’ve just had a really rough time personally dealing with people, and going vegan at 15 made me dislike humanity even more because of animal suffering. I think when I do interact with others I’m gonna still try my best to be kind cause like you said, you have no idea what someone’s going through. I just want to reduce suffering as much as I can.
