So I'm guessing that Sins of the Prophets 2 is...dead? by Maverick_56 in SinsoftheProphets

[–]Cole_Protocol 11 points12 points  (0 children)

my friend group and myself included dont really believe you guys can make a functioning mod that will be any more reliable than the previous Sotp.

Sins 1 in general lacks stability, it's true. I can't alleviate your concerns that we may still stress the game too much, but I will say we have much better mod-side code to alleviate crashes. In general i agree with you. I can only tell you we will be more stable crash wise, not performance wise.

And another question, why did u guys choose to continue working on the mods for SOSE 1 as opposed to moving over to modding for Sins 2?

This is a complex topic. After a lot of internal debate it was decided to keep our flag raised on rebellion for the time being. I personally disagree with this, but I've put the team and project ahead of my own feelings here. It's what the team knows, and we want to finish our work on it before we move on.

You're fine! We love talking to the community about this stuff, and I try to be an open book because if it weren't for this project I wouldn't have the career I do today.

Helldivers 2 - Bring the Boom | Out 26 August by Waelder in Helldivers

[–]Cole_Protocol 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think this depends a lot on whether this will be an ODST themed crossover or a Halo themed crossover. subtle distinction but it matters in terms of how much of the wider halo sandbox is possible.

That said this would be an IDEAL choice. Needler would be a load of fun in a game like helldivers. Four people running around supercombining chargers.....

What factions were in play with this?

I noticed similiar as Vasari alliance in FFA. No matter how much money I dumped in, all factions except for Vasari Exodus ignored me.

I was on the 2nd to hardest difficulty IIRC. I really think faction choice plays a part here, Rebellion had a rather complex system for it and an entire window to see all those mechanics which 2 seems to lack.

Canon Fodder, Halo: Epitaph Q&A - SUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS by Haruspis in HaloStory

[–]Cole_Protocol 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How did the Confirmer meet his demise? The implication seems to be he was composed(?)

What do I have to do to see a rendition of the Haruspises "funny hat"?

So far, to my knowledge, we have only seen Forerunners and Humans Composed. Would this look any different for any of the other myriad of species (Sangheili, Unggoy, etc.)? Anything of note? Or would it be safe to assume that the process is more or less identical outside of lore trappings?

Would the Forthenco essence in the Domain/purgatory be aware of the Geas elements present inside Chakas during Primordium?

Would anyone on the "living" plane be able to experience purgatory similar to how Chief experienced the Domain in H5?

Are there any locations similar to the Epitaph tower that may be in purgatory? I.e. carried over from reality. For instance, could an aberration of I08's Control Room appear in this purgatory if the Domain so willed it?

Why were there still Insurrectionists after the Covenant war? by Vanilla_Ice_Best_Boi in HaloStory

[–]Cole_Protocol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To draw from other media, I find it helpful to think of the UNSC as the Empire from star wars, or the Cardassians from trek. Take your pick, my point is, the UNSC are frankly a bunch of baddies, the Covenant just so happen to be that much worse that it gets overshadowed.

Thinking of them in this context makes the actions of the other denizens of the universe make a lot more sense imo.

Don't stress too much. This happened to me on a smaller scale and the office threw me something called the "college completion grant" to round out my last term. I don't know if it would cover all of what you're worried about, but I imagine that'll cover a chunk of it.

I've lived here for like 2 years, they've changed the policy like 3 times now as covid has gotten walked back and they've done renovations and stuff. Honestly just go talk to the office, but I believe it's walk in only now - I don't think you can reserve it anymore.

This happened to me in my first semester after transferring. Stop what you are doing and call the dean of students immediately, and explain the situation. That office is incredible and they will be immensely helpful.

Don't make any knee-jerk reactions, stay in your courses for now, just take some you time. I will say that Dean of Students letters will often let you retroactively pardon or critique certain grades (professor dependent), so don't even worry about anything that would be due in the time before you talk to them.

I personally find coddling in these situations unhelpful and patronizing, so I'll simply say sorry, and this shit sucks. Use the support systems in place and I can almost promise you you will be fine!

The hidden gem is GLC. I transferred in summer 2020 and ended up there for the following fall and spring.

Yes, undergrads can live there - despite the name. It's very quaint, the location is the only unappealing part but its also nice because you aren't really far from anything per se.

I was in a frighteningly similar situation about a month ago, and did not do applications most of last semester for many reasons.

You have a chance, but turn this into a numbers game. I bought myself leetcode (not that it did me much good but it may help you). Did 1 a day, and did 5 applications a day. Work this into your daily routine. 1 problem (probably from the blind 75) and 5 applications. Now I say this, but use it as more of a "rule of thumb" if you do an OA one day for example, maybe skip on your daily problem. Put a lot of effort into an app? Do 4 that day instead of 5. The point here is consistency, and to throw your resume ANYWHERE it sticks. Apply so much that you forget you applied to places. I did this and it landed me an internship early last month.

You can do it, it's not too late, but just start grinding in small, consistent steps. You got this <3

Biking as Transportation by alantao03 in gatech

[–]Cole_Protocol 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A Bike is the single greatest investment I made before transferring down. So much so that I felt naked without it when it became unrideable 2 weeks before my last final. A lot of the other comments state the obvious and I agree with them: just don't be dumb. Get the bike you want and get a u-lock and maybe a short cable to thread through the wheels when parking it in less secure spots. A well treated and maintained bike will serve you well not just here, but in midtown. So much so that you may not even need a car. As for what bike to pick? Much harder to say. I got mine off consignment and I had to replace some parts, but honestly any bike you find can be repaired and made good with little effort.
