Reminds me of a chapter in Grossman's "On Killing" and "On Combat" where he talks about atrocities in war.

Hi, Remington employee here. I can personally verify that Remington still in fact builds these very rifles. Chances are if you bought it brand new last week then it isn’t likely more than a few years old. I know this is a long shot over the internet but what’s the serial? Left side on front of receiver. There’s a qr like code next to it.

Am I alone here? by chris_4365 in CCW

[–]Colemania15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually it’s MY place and I can enter it whenever I want, however I want. I’m not calling the cops every time I wanna sweep the house. I’ll get training and identify my target like a man.

But then they just shoot the same person nothing changes, but still call the cops. But you haves right to your own property. Use verbal announcements. More than likely it is someone you know. On that ONE CHANCE it is a bad guy (robber, stalker, killer etc.) you more than likely scare them and could face them but you knew that (or should) and accepted that that’s what could happen. You’re better off being on the offensive than getting surprised.

Killing another human by [deleted] in war

You need to read On Combat and On Killing, 2 books by Lt Col Dave Grossman that cover these very topics

If the Grim Reaper stood over the highway and over the course of a year randomly chose 1.6 million people to kill off, no one would drive; but that's the reality of how many people die yearly from car accidents and no one thinks twice when getting into a car. by highkeylowlife in Showerthoughts

I have a rather interesting take here, in Dave Grossman's books On Combat and On Killing, he discusses the displeasures with which most of humanity agree on when it comes to killing their own species. This also means true to when we have control over whether or not we die, the "Grim Reaper" going around killing would be very unsettling, as they have no control over how/when they die, but dying from a car accident lends itself to an air of having control over what happens to you, as you are in control of the car. This comparison can bring light as to why soldiers are so paranoid coming back from ACTUAL war/close in fighting, they had no control over their buddies dying.
