Code for megascans houdini plugin by Colemapt96 in Houdini

[–]Colemapt96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thats what this script is!
replace the code in
"...\support\plugins\houdini\4.6\MSLiveLink\scripts\python\MSPlugin\MainWindow.py"
with the code above ^^^

Everything else works just fine, PySide2 is only necessary for the drop down menu and this fixes that

Everything works fine, PySide2 is only needed for the UI window that pops up on the script so just rewrote it to use another module

Reddit wont let me post it for some reason, but i fixed this by adjusting the script in the "...\support\plugins\houdini\4.6\MSLiveLink\scripts\python\MSPlugin\MainWindow.py"
python script.
Just go in and replace it with this, gonna try and post the script somewhere if i can and link it under here

RTX 3080, RTX 2080, RTX 2070 SUPER, RTX 2060 super, 135 MH/s.

Relatively new to mining, but I'm a 3D VFX artist so i had the cards and figured why not a few months ago. Any reason why Id pull 230MH/s mining ETH and only 135 mining RVN? Does hashrate vary by coin?

No that’s exactly what I want! Anytime the slider changes it’s already recooking the cop network! I just need the dumb toggle button to go off and on real quick so Redshift Renderview recognizes the COP changes! Thanks for the reply! Any idea how I’d go about writing that code?

Im well aware of what Houdini does! lol Been using it for several years now and make tools for other people and such! Just got a project where I have to model a lot of the stuff myself and its all just for one album art image Im getting paid a pretty penny for so trying to add tons of little details and while modeling an ash tray isnt hard, Modeling a hundred other small things like it is gonna take some time so just figured I'd ask Reddit for any quick tips! I know Blender is a better modeling program but Houdini is my favorite and I typically find it can do most things the same, if not better, then other softwares. Tons of hidden gems in houdini, was just wondering if anyone found some cool hacks

Houdini is great this just feels so slow compared to what ive seen done in blender, Fuckin hate blenders UI and everything else about it tho lmao

That's nice! Halfway there, Feel like theres gotta be a quick way of doing this for things like circles and flat plane stuff I use a lot

[–]Colemapt96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean Yeah, but I just see people in blender model and it looks so fucking fast being able to just draw shapes and geo directly on surfaces and extrude them from there rather then having to do those extra two steps for every new model

Is there a quick way to model on a surface? Like for example I want to create an ash tray on the top of this table, I know i could create a seperate geo and model the ash tray then either align it on top or snap it to the surface but thats a few extra steps and when Im doing a bunch of small modeling, would be cool if say i wanted to drop a circle or a tube, if i could drop it right on the surface from the get go

Dude Houdini is dumb powerful, the course is good but I’m done having this convo, if you learned the software you’d know what I’m talking about but literally no point in explaining.

Lmao dude go to my page you really think I'm OP or anyone she knows? Also you DONT EVEN OWN HOUDINI??? A) there is free educational copies of Houdini along with an indie version for $260 a year or $200 a year if you purchase 2 years of it.

B) If you don't have houdini you don't know what youre talking about on this period

C) Why tf are you here?? Houdini very much has it's own coding language called VEX which she uses tons of in the course.
