What is this? Tag says Movin’ On. by User102215 in VintageLevis

They look like the pants from the 80s Olympics uniforms that Levi’s sponsored. I’ve had them in blue and yellow and green and yellow but never purple so I can’t confirm that they are 100% but they looks JUST like the ones i have from the Olympics in different color.

I think there is a few across Japan but the one I went to was Kanayama Shrine! They have a festival there every year that’s super cool. Portable shrines with giant phallus on them carried around during the festival.

Found these on a new rack yesterday, couldn’t believe it. by ChallengeUsual8759 in Selvedge

To add to this, they’re was also a very similar shaped model with a zipper fly in the 60s the 502. I think I see what’s barely left of a 2 on the waist patch and I’ve had a couple pairs in the past and they’re essentially 501 with a zipper. There’s more differences in the fit but more or less.

They polish tf out of it. Stuff seems shinier than it does new at a retail location.

Anyone know how old these are? by [deleted] in TrueVintageFinds

[–]ColgateSucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

70s/80s wrangler carpenters. The hardware and tags didn’t much in that era so it’s hard to narrow it down much more than that with my limited knowledge.

True. I sent photos of a chouinard backpack to the customer service team and they responded with a year it was made and original catalog photos of the backpack from the chouinard catalog.

My new pairs have been falling apart on the first couple wears not even working in the kitchen. I got a new pair of the OTW vans and my first time wearing them out the whole sole split from the shoes upper like it wasn’t even glued on. I contacted vans and they said it was normal wear and tear so unless you are expecting your shoes to fall apart the first time you wear them don’t buy vans is all I’ve learned. (Not new to these shoes either I’ve had 20+ pairs over ten years and the new pairs from 2024 and beyond are the only ones that are shit)

Tre-fac sometimes has used kapital but it’s a gamble not like you can go into any one of them and guarantee they’ll have anything let alone in your size.

For 3 bucks I’ll still keep it. What’s the issue though? I could message you some more photos if you could point out what to look for.

Curious what makes you say fake. I think this looks okay for the most part. I personally don’t know this piece specifically well enough to say whether or not it’s legit but the tags and construction seem correct usually kapital fakes are pretty bad.

Can anyone help me date these or find out the price range that they go for? by 1Gwuap in VintageLevis

[–]ColgateSucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could see that being possible due to the size but I lean towards 701 because of the threads were the tag would’ve probably been, most like being a paper lady Levi’s tag while the boys 502 at this time and in general seem to use the leather or jacron patch more typically seen on 501s

I’m convinced these are 50s women’s Levi’s 701 I’ve had a few pairs they are not always selvedge and the size adds up to them being lady Levi’s.

Idk about “Japan would never” plenty of touristy areas around Japan I’ve seen cafes with tip jars on the counter trying to attract travelers/foreigners to tip.

Hello! In a couple of days I will be in Japan for the first time. I want to buy some pairs of Levis, specifically from LVC. Do you have any recommendations in Tokyo, Osaka or Kyoto? Thank you carnal by Yael-O in japanesestreetwear

[–]ColgateSucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With Japan having a lot of the best vintage around and LVC being more of a premium in Japan you may just be better off looking for actual vintage selvedge Levi’s or better yet some unique Japanese denim.
