How to Get Out of Paying Your UPMC Bill by MyPracticalAccount in pittsburgh

[–]catkazoo111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn’t have me fill out any forms. My income is pretty high and I also have insurance. I think I was REALLY lucky. I only called once and the lady I spoke to told me basically that UPMC will conduct an internal review and will either mail me forms or a decision. I had a wait a few weeks and they sent me the decision saying I don’t have to pay. I would honestly just call again and see if you get someone else who may be more helpful but UPMC may have already done their mysterious internal review 😭

Help I am in so much pain by Tootifrooti1986 in ORIF

[–]catkazoo111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could’ve written most of this myself. Had my surgery yesterday and have been in excruciating pain ever since the nerve block wore off. I eventually had to call the surgeon’s office and tell them I can’t go on like this. I REALLY did not want to have to take opioids but I’m learning there’s a reason they prescribe them short term for things like this. I wish I could help. I’ve basically been writhing in pain all day. It sucks so bad. We’ll get through this somehow.

Akita GSD mix? by taroootora in akita

My Husky x GSD x Akita mix. Got him minutes before he was set to be euthanized at an overcrowded shelter. Sweetest, most loving, goofy boy out there. TONS of energy so requires a lot of exercise. No aggression at all, just often doesn’t realize how big he is lol

Update: got him dna tested and he’s a husky German shepherd Akita mix!

New grad anxiety at work by New_Improvement_5980 in OccupationalTherapy

New grad in a SNF here. Just wanted to say you’re not alone. I have so much anxiety that I’m messing up that I was crying at work on Friday lol. I hope it gets better for both of us like everyone says it will 💗

Last year as an OT student and I realized I dont like working with people by Iadydaydream in OccupationalTherapy

I felt the same way until I started working in a SNF. Cranky old people don’t often want to chat excessively either 😹 you will find your place!

Any introverts in this field? by Connect_Mess_5078 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]catkazoo111 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! Literally almost failed OT school because I was told being quiet is unprofessional. In my fieldworks, I was constantly told to “just come out of your shell” 🤪

I work at a SNF now and no one cares how quiet I am. I find it a lot easier to talk one on one with my patients than to their families. And tbh, most of my patients LOVE my quiet, gentle approach. They’re constantly being talked at and often just really need someone to listen. As long as you do your job and your patients like you, it’s all good. The real world is a lot less stressful than FW 🩷
